4 things seen as Jürgen Klopp loses his cool despite a stunning performance from Liverpool victory over Sheffield United

With their 2-1 victory over Sheffield United, Liverpool made things considerably harder for themselves and went back to the top of the Premier League. This is what we observed.
ARMOUR GAME, LIVERPOOL Liverpool defeated Sheffield United 3-1 to reclaim the top spot in the Premier League. But the Reds’ encounter with the bottom team in the division was undoubtedly difficult that night.
Liverpool would go on to dominate the game after James McAtee gave them an early fright in the first sixty seconds. Early on, Mohamed Salah came closest when he tried to chip Ivo Grbić, but the goalkeeper for the visitors palmed the ball away.
Moments later, the Croatian did not cover himself in glory as the Reds took the lead. Granted what appeared to be a straightforward clearance, Grbić struck the ball directly at Darwin Núñez, causing it to bounce over the goal line and giving the Uruguayan possibly the simplest goal he will ever score for the Reds.
Although Alexis Mac Allister curled a shot just wide, the score would remain the same at halftime. Mac Allister would come close to adding another goal to his recent tally. You would have thought that the Reds would extend their lead after controlling possession, but Sheffield United managed to get back into the game.
As Liverpool found itself exposed, Gustavo Hamer was able to scuttle by Conor Bradley and grab a cross. Conor Bradley’s header was deflected in for an own goal, leaving the Reds with more work than they had anticipated.
Anfield was becoming increasingly frustrated as time passed, not least because Jürgen Klopp was infuriated by his team’s inability to capitalise on its possession. Fortunately, the Reds would find a winner, and it was only a matter of time before Alexis Mac Allister once again proved to be the hero, thundering in a second goal to calm the crowd.
Late on, Cody Gakpo would seal the deal, propelling the Reds back to the top of the Premier League. These are the four observations Liverpool.com made during the course of the match.
Tsimikas’ actions on the bench
A pre-kick ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ chant from the Anfield crowd is nothing new. However, some of the players may surprise you by participating.
Kostas Tsimikas was plainly seen mouthing the club hymn behind him as the television cameras roamed around the stadium prior to kickoff, focused on Jürgen Klopp as he got ready for one of his final games as manager of Anfield. True to his nickname, the Greek Scouser lives up to it.
Alisson and Kelleher are equal
Caoimhín Kelleher: where would Liverpool be without him? The Irishman has been outstanding in Alisson Becker’s place, and in the first sixty seconds of the Reds’ match against Sheffield United, he provided even more proof of his significance.
Kelleher denied an unmarked James McAtee, demonstrating that he was aware of the threat even though some of his teammates didn’t seem to be. That was about as busy as he would be during the game, making his 24th appearance of the season and matching Alisson for the campaign in the process, but it was still an important intervention.
Núñez’s perseverance is rewarded.
Núñez might have been due for some luck, considering some of the opportunities that haven’t worked out for him this season. It’s possible that not even he anticipated his opener to arrive as it did.
To his credit, though, the Uruguayan was able to create a goal out of an entirely harmless circumstance. Núñez had attempted, but failed, to shut down Grbić a few seconds earlier.
But he was not to be put off, as the visitors counterattacked and his leap proved to be the difference as Grbić’s second effort at a clearance was foiled, adding to Sheffield United’s anguish as the ball bounced over the line. Núñez’s perseverance is really beginning to pay off.
Klopp loses his cool.
Once more, Liverpool gave the game a lot more tension than it deserved. Even though the Reds had a lot of possession, it was mostly wasted rather than used well, and they paid a price when Sheffield United equalised right away.
On the sidelines, Jürgen Klopp was becoming more and more upset, and you get a sneaking suspicion that his own team was the source of his ire. The German appeared more irate than anything, even when Alexis Mac Allister thundered the ball home to put his side ahead once again.
Naturally, the title chase adds extra pressure that may do odd things to a team, but Liverpool must take this lesson to heart. They can’t afford to make the same error at Old Trafford in a few days after failing to turn their dominance into goals against Manchester United in the FA Cup.
