Liverpool introduced new signing Alexis Mac Allister earlier this month but are in need of several reinforcements to improve their midfield.
Fabrizio Romano has revealed that the Reds are in talks with multi-player representatives and will “seal” the signing of at least one other “major” midfielder to bolster things at midfield.
The well-known Italian journalist stated on his YouTube channel:
“Let’s see what happens at Liverpool, we know now I’m with Khephren Thuram, with Manu Kone, Gabri Veiga”
“They talk to the agents about many midfielders because at least this summer they will have another important midfielder.”
The Guardian reporter also revealed that Liverpool are following Italian international Nicolo Barella, much admired by German manager Jurgen Klopp.
He said it would take a fee of more than £50m to attract the Inter Milan star
Klopp relies heavily on the hard workers at the center of the park. Under his leadership, the midfielders did not score regularly, instead focusing on working as a unit to apply pressure, win and carry the ball forward.
The Reds have not strengthened the department for three years and the current aging midfield is not good enough.
Who do you think Liverpool should sign to strengthen their squad this summer?
