RB Leipzig are set to loan out Fabio Carvalho from Liverpool until the end of the season as the youngster struggles to buy time at Anfield this season.
Before the summer transfer window opened, there were rumors the 20-year-old could leave Liverpool in the summer as he was unhappy with the number of minutes he received in his first season at Anfield.
Fabrizio Romano is now reporting that Carvalho is set to join RB Leipzig on a season-long loan. Both clubs are working on the final details to finalize the deal next week.
The transfer reporter says the deal doesn’t include an option to buy as the Reds seem keen to give the winger another chance.
Carvalho made 21 appearances for Liverpool last season but only managed 637 minutes in total, around seven full games.
Jurgen Klopp has made very little use of the youngster all season, so it’s no real surprise he’ll be loaned out for next season.

Liverpool and Manchester United transfer target has already won the praise of Jurgen Klopp.
Liverpool have been linked with a move by Inter Milan midfielder Nicolò Barella. It seems a mystery who will be the next player to arrive through the Anfield goal.
The signing of Alexis Mac Allister was announced even before the official start of the summer transfer window. Argentina’s 2022 World Cup winner has been recruited by Brighton and Hove Albion for what initially appears to be a bargain price of £35m.
Having scored 10 goals for the Seagulls in the Premier League last season, it’s understandable that Mac Allister is appreciated for Liverpool.
But Kopites understands all too well that one midfielder will not be enough. At least one more mid-park addition is needed, especially after the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.
Then consider the Reds’ mediocre 2022-2023 season, in which the engine room was heavily scrutinized.
There are certainly enough names related to each other. Jürgen Klopp might prefer someone who has yet to reach his prime but has already shown potential in abundance. Khephren Thuram, Gabri Veiga, Ryan Gravenberch and Manu Kone all fall into that category.
Liverpool have reportedly been courting the Inter Milan star for several months. While he may be several years older than Thuram et al, it would mean the 26-year-old is more likely to fit neatly into Klopp’s system.
Last season, Barella recorded an impressive nine goals and 10 assists in 52 appearances to help Inter reach the Champions League final.
And even though the Serie A side were beaten 1-0 by Manchester City in Istanbul, the Euro 2020 winner was praised for Italy’s performance. Indeed, Klopp has already spoken of his admiration for Barella.
Liverpool faced Inter Milan in the quarter-finals of the Champions League in the 2022-23 season. Barella, on the other hand, was excluded from both races, having to serve a two-match disqualification. The Reds actually benefited from the 2-1 aggregate finish that took them to the round of 16.
And before Liverpool’s 2-0 victory in the first leg at San Siro, Klopp made no secret of the vote he gave to Barella. He said: “It’s not a bad thing for us that Barella can’t play!
“He’s a great player, a great player. I like him a lot. He’s got everything you want in a midfielder. He’s aggressive, he’s technical [good], he can run for a long time and everything in between.
“So he’s a top player. But – I’m not 100% sure – the replacement will probably be Arturo Vidal. So this is the experience at its best. He has played at the top level everywhere and I think Arturo is very motivated in these matches, so I’m not so sure if he is such an asset to us that he plays instead of Barella.”
What could dissuade Liverpool from signing Barella is his price. Premier League rivals Newcastle United were reportedly keen to sign academy product Calgari for £50m.
He comes nowhere near Inter’s valuation, however, with The Independent suggesting it would cost £80m to sell Barella. Regardless of what happens, Klopp will likely be watching closely if Barella actually moves to the Premier League before the transfer window closes.
