Wesley Fofana 'confirms' a £17 million transfer to Chelsea after a'secret' medical, and four agreements are made public.
Chelsea transfer news: The Blues are set to complete another transfer this summer with Edouard Mendy set to leave but a deal has already been confirmed beforehand.

Wesley Fofana pulled out all the stops but confirmed a move to Chelsea this summer before it was officially announced. It was a bit hasty to say goodbye during the period when the Frenchman left Stamford Bridge almost daily.

Although they’ve only played one game together all season, the two seem to have developed a good relationship off the pitch as well.

As they both speak French and are goalkeepers, their lack of playing time together speaks to the ongoing individual and collective struggles. After Fofana signed for the club, Mendy was injured for most of the rest of the season and also out of form.

Their only appearance came in Thomas Tuchel’s last game, in September 2022. Since then, their mutual injury woes have meant that overlapping misfortunes have had few coincidences.

Unlike Kante, Koulibaly and Mateo Kovacic – who have been confirmed at Manchester City – Mendy is yet to be announced in Saudi Arabia but is on track with Fabrizio Romano writing there will be a move to London on Monday to undergo medical treatment secret before the move.

He was also seen out in the countryside and wearing a green scarf around his neck before an announcement was made.

For Fofana, he first blinked and wrote on Instagram, “[Original] My big brother, I will miss you, all the best to you and your family.”

He released Mendy’s own upload from late 2022 in which he celebrated a personal achievement, winning the Club World Cup and the Africa Cup of Nations.

Chelsea ‘ Think' about using one stone to kill two birds, with Lukaku exchange transfer that would see ex-Arsenal target join
CHELSEA are reportedly considering a move that would “kill two birds with one stone” by including Romelu Lukaku in a deal for Dusan Vlahovic.

The Blues are currently going through a massive cleanup as they look to revamp their squad under new boss Mauricio Pochettino.

One of those likely to walk out is £97.5m forward Lukaku.
The 30-year-old Belgian international played on loan at Inter last season and would like to move to the San Siro.

But Chelsea have so far rejected Inter’s offer to bring on the former Everton and Manchester United side for another season. Lukaku was also offered a lucrative transfer from Saudi Arabia but didn’t accept that either.

Now The Telegraph says Juventus are keen to sign him as a possible replacement for Dusan Vlahovic.
The 23-year-old Serbian has long been a transfer target for Arsenal but now Chelsea could make a splash as they are also in the new market for a new striker.

And this new report states that bringing Vlahovic “and sending Lukaku to Juventus would kill two birds with one stone for Chelsea”.

Milan would also be interested, but the deal “shouldn’t materialise”. Chelsea have been open to Lukaku’s return to Stamford Bridge and a fresh start under Pochettino.

But the player himself has made it clear that staying in Italy is his goal.
Blues bosses will have further talks over his future this week.

And this update claims that “there is still recognition on all sides that it is in everyone’s interest” to get things done quickly.

We previously reported that Juventus value Vlahovic at £68m and club bosses are keen to sell him this summer. The striker joined the club from Fiorentina for £62m in January last year but struggled to find his form, scoring just ten Serie A goals last season.
