Levi Colwill, a defender for Chelsea, is someone Liverpool would be willing to pay a high price to acquire this summer.
As Colwill’s future at Stamford Bridge is uncertain, the Reds have been strongly linked with him. The 20-year-old appears to be staying put for the time being, though, with Chelsea reportedly adamant that he won’t be sold.
However, journalist David Lynch highlighted Liverpool’s interest in Colwill while speaking to Redmen TV yesterday. Lynch claims that the Reds will relocate if Chelsea even hints at encouraging them.
They would “absolutely love to” sign Colwill, I believe. “I believe Liverpool would pull this off if there was even a remote chance that they could.
They adore him.
Because he is a native son, he perfectly meets the requirements. I believe he would be the perfect signing for that position.
“It’s a tough one, Brighton have already given up, it looks like they’ll go for Calvin Bassey instead because they didn’t get the sense they could close a deal. However, Liverpool has a lot more money than Brighton and is likely able to negotiate a deal at a higher price than Brighton were expecting.
“Perhaps if it gets to the point this summer where he says, “I’m not going to sign a contract,” feeling that there aren’t enough assurances regarding his playing time, that option might become available for Liverpool, and they could really pursue it.
“I am aware that there has been contact on the part of the agents, and they are monitoring him. I believe they would pay a high price for him if they received even the tiniest bit of encouragement that they might strike a deal with Chelsea. ”.
Liverpool is prepared Colwill fight

We’re beginning to see more clearly where the ground is at as Liverpool’s summer window begins to take shape.
For a number of months now, it has been said that the Reds are looking for a center back, preferably a left-footer.
Clearly, the midfield has taken precedence thus far. But with that almost finished, focus will soon shift to whether Liverpool can close a deal to bolster their defensive unit.
Therefore, Colwill is undoubtedly a person to watch. The academy graduate is being courted by Chelsea, but Liverpool isn’t exactly known for hanging around in a race they know they can’t win. From the player’s camp, they must have received some kind of encouragement.
It seems as though the Reds will strike if the West Londoners even slightly soften their stance, as Lynch says. Although it appears that Brighton is already out of the running, Liverpool would like to think that they can persuade a player who admires Steven Gerrard.
Other targets in the window may be more amenable to capture right now. One such player is Goncalo Inacio, whose contract with Sporting contains a comparatively modest release clause.
Liverpool is wise to wait before firing the shot on someone else if they believe Chelsea will relent on Colwill.
While on loan at Huddersfield Town in 2021/22, the young defender was praised as “fantastic” by teammate Lewis O’Brien [Yorkshire Live]. Colwill has only continued to get better since then. He sounds like the player the Reds are really after, so it will be interesting to see how far they are willing to go for him.
