According to a report; Liverpool is prepared to increase its offer, to finally sign a £42 million star.Liverpool needs to bolster its defense in the upcoming summer transfer window, and Perr Schuurs of the Netherlands is their top target once more.

When he played for Ajax in 2020 (The Mirror), The Reds were linked with him, and they haven’t lost that interest.

After putting on a strong season last year, Torino paid a fee of roughly 10 million euros to hire his services, and now major European clubs are keeping an eye on him.

Liverpool and Napoli reportedly made offers to woo Schuurs, but the Granata rejected them, according to a report covered by Tutto Sport earlier in the day.

The Italian champions submitted a bid worth 28 million euros, while the Reds offered 30 million euros.

The Turin-based media outlet reported that Liverpool are prepared to make a better and newer offer to finally sign the 23-year-old.

Schuurs is worth approximately £42.8 million (50 million euros), but the president of Il Toro might accept a deal if he receives a bid of roughly 40 million euros.

According to Tutto Sport, it is not impossible for the Anfield club to meet the asking price.

Only Napoli, Lazio, Roma, and Juventus had a better defensive record in the previous Serie A season than Torino. Perr Schuurs played in 30 league games and contributed to the team’s nine shutouts.

Should Liverpool raise their offer to finally sign him, in your opinion?

Mason Mount just proved why Man United still can’t match Liverpool and FSG transfer trick

According to a report; Liverpool is prepared to increase its offer, to finally sign a £42 million star.
While other clubs have made a habit of dragging out transfer stories, Liverpool have raised the bar in negotiations and continue to do so now with Jörg Schmadtke.

When it comes to handling transfer deals, few clubs can match Liverpool.
Fans might disagree with that statement, especially after last year’s disappointing window resulted in a trophyless season and failed Champions League qualification. But when it comes to securing a player’s signature, the Reds are not shy about doing so.

We’ve seen it more than once lately. Once Liverpool are interested it usually doesn’t take long to get their man and, much to the delight of the fans, usually results in one of the Reds’ rivals being blown out of the water.

In January 2022, with Tottenham eyeing Luis Díaz, Liverpool stepped in to snatch him from under Spurs’ noses (according to TalkSport).

The Reds repeated the trick a few months later, moving quickly to secure Darwin Núñez and beat Manchester United (via the Underground), and the Red Devils were soon given another transfer lesson when Cody Gakpo moved to Anfield (according to GOAL )

According to a report; Liverpool is prepared to increase its offer, to finally sign a £42 million star.
Much of the credit for these deals should go to former sporting directors Michael Edwards and Julian Ward. The pair have raised the bar for the new club in charge and, judging by Jörg Schmadtke’s first deal, the German will pick up where he left off. The arrival of Dominik Szoboszlai came as a surprise.

Just a few weeks ago, the Hungarian was little more than a passing mention in the plethora of midfielders linked to a move to Anfield. While he’s been defended several times on this site, it seemed like Szoboszlai wasn’t really on the radar.

Of course, on this occasion the Reds had no choice but to act quickly to meet the deadline of Szoboszlai’s release clause.

That said, you can certainly imagine a certain Old Trafford club making a lot more of the situation before having to negotiate a much higher fee. Finally, United have only just confirmed the signing of Mason Mount, although the transfer was in the works long before Liverpool signed Szoboszlai.

And it’s not like the Reds don’t have competition for Szoboszlai’s signature. Newcastle have shown strong interest (according to Football Insider) and were perhaps seen as favorites before Liverpool arrived.

Of course, there is still work for Schmadtke to do this summer and in the end he will be judged not only by Liverpool’s next signings but also by how well they and Szoboszlai fare next season.

Still, the German may have already shown why he was chosen by the FSG by repeating Edwards and Ward’s tricks during their time at the club. And that could well be more bad news for rivals Liverpool.
