Fabrizio Romano has now shared what Chelsea are “busy doing” in the background as they attempt to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton.
What did Fabrizio Romano say when he broke the news about Moises Caicedo and Chelsea? We see…
What’s the story?
Well, Romano said Chelsea are in the process of signing strikers while also looking to lure the Ecuador international away from Brighton.
He said:
“I have been told that the situation with Moises Caicedo is concrete and between Chelsea and Brighton. They decided to do a different type of negotiation, to talk club to club, and it will take a few days, so let’s see how long. Chelsea is working on it behind the scenes.
“Chelsea are busy with attacking players but Caicedo is a priority.”
This is encouraging news for Chelsea fans as the attacking department was very shy last season.
Chelsea have scored just 38 goals in 38 Premier League games and no player has managed to score in double figures.
Kai Havertz – who has since moved to Arsenal – and Raheem Sterling were top scorers with nine goals each in the Premier League. Who Chelsea could sign as Caicedo talks continue
So who could these attackers Chelsea are trying to sign?
Not many people know for sure but according to Italian Corriere dello Sport, Paulo Dybala is one of the strikers Mauricio Pochettino would like to have at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea have been told of the Argentine’s £10million release clause which seems almost too good to be true after scoring 18 goals last season.
Elsewhere, an offer for Dusan Vlahovic has apparently been turned down, according to Corriere della Sera, meaning the Serb could also be one of the forwards Chelsea are working on a deal for.
Keep an eye on developments at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea continue their squad transformation.

Chelsea’s pre-tour US squad will look very different to the one Thomas Tuchel chose for his own trip across the Pacific last summer.
Mauricio Pochettino is expected to travel to the United States in two weeks, but more changes are to come.
The Blues have already sold players worth £163m but that could rise to £321m ahead of the trip. While Tuchel opted for a 29-man, 14-man squad who would then leave before the end of the summer window, Pochettino is unlikely to follow suit.
In a scenario football.london has predicted, there are just 13 players left at the club that last toured and the squad preparing for the 2023/24 season will again look very different.
Chelsea confirmed their fourth transfer in two days after announcing the arrival of Nicolas Jackson and the departure of Ruben Loftus-Cheek on Friday.
These have now been followed by the arrival of youth pairing Alex Matos and Diego Moreira. Both teenagers join on a free transfer after their contracts with Norwich and Benfica respectively expire.
Mauricio Pochettino’s massive rebuilding at the club continues, although deals for this duo were agreed before the Argentine himself was hired as manager, the influx and exodus of players across the club continues.
Saturday marked the first day of Mauricio Pochettino’s official tenure at Chelsea. After agreeing to join the club more than four weeks ago, the Blues are now under the management of the Argentine.
The start of the month also marked the end of the sponsorship deal with Three as the club enters limbo without a new confirmed sponsor.
After reports suggested gaming and casino company Stake would become main shirt sponsor on a one-year deal, the Chelsea Supporters’ Trust sent a letter to owners opposing the potential partnership .
Further decisions are yet to be announced as the wait for a new kit announcement also continues.
