Liverpool 'expect' to beat Chelsea to £50m 'beast' to replace Galatasaray-linked star
Liverpool ‘expect’ to strike a deal for midfielder Romeo Lavia and the ‘beast’ from Southampton are reportedly interested in a move to Anfield.

Lavia has been linked with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool this summer following his impressive performances in his first season for Southampton.

Last week, a report said Liverpool had cooled their interest in Lavia as there was “no void to fill” in their squad, but that could change soon with Thiago Alcantara being linked with a move to Galatasaray.

Turkish publication Fanatik (via Sport Witness) report that Galatasaray chairman Erden Timur has held talks with the Spaniard over a move and made a “very good offer” which Thiago hailed.

The report adds that “Timur has also been in talks with Liverpool to find out the terms necessary to sign the former Barcelona star in this window.” Fabrizio Romano said on Friday that Liverpool believe they can “find a way” to bring in Lavia using “a creative formula”.

Southampton rejected a £50m offer for Lavia from Chelsea last summer, having previously signed the teenager from Manchester City for £11m.

Saints allegedly wanted the same fee for Lavia who had been relegated to the Championship, but The Sun recently said they had reduced his price to £40m in a bid to encourage potential suitors.

Liverpool would be willing to pay that price for the midfielder who he sees as “a beast who can break up the game, seal the space in which the opposition operate and lay the foundations for the team’s attacking play”.

Chelsea are still eyeing the Belgian international as a possible alternative to Moises Caicedo, for whom Brighton want Declan Rice’s money. Caicedo admitted this week that he is enjoying the transfer speculation, although he insists he “knows how to handle it.”

“It’s a very big emotion,” Caicedo told Maria Jose Flores. “What man wouldn’t want to be talked about about him?”

“I know how to deal with it. I don’t get carried away by emotions. I am enjoying the time with my family for now. There is pressure, but I am calm. I await God’s decision. He will know what is best for me.

According to report:Liverpool ready to close quick signing of £26m-£34m play breaker

Defenceless! Six things came to light as Bayern Munich ruthlessly exposed Liverpool's flimsy backline.
To begin their new Premier League season under Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool will play Chelsea away from home in just over ten days.

With only two additions and five departures in the midfield, it will be fair to say that the Reds haven’t been able to adequately strengthen the team thus far.

The Merseysiders must expeditiously finalize a deal for a playmaker to replace Fabinho, and reports suggest that Fluminense’s Andre might be the one to replace his compatriot at Anfield.

According to UOL, the Brazilian team would prefer to keep their prized asset until December before selling it for a sum of roughly 25 to 30 million euros.

However, as claims that Liverpool are willing to swiftly complete the signing of the Selecao player during the current transfer window.

The renowned Spanish news outlet reported that the South American club would demand a fee of £26m-£34m (30-40 million euros) if they had to offload the defensive midfielder this summer.

After Andre, there are other Premier League teams besides the six-time European champions.

The media outlet based in Madrid reports that Fulham is also trying to sign him and that they even had a bid of 20 million euros rejected during the winter transfer window.

Romeo Lavia, a former DM for Manchester City, is still rumored to be interested in joining Liverpool, despite Southampton making no concessions.

We’ll monitor the transfer saga to see how it plays out and will keep you informed.
