Eberechi Eze,
Chelsea continues to look for at least one additional attacker despite having already spent a significant amount of money on the transfer market this summer.

The boys in blue now have targets like Lyon’s Bradley Barcola after failing in their pursuit of Crystal Palace’s Michael Olise.

Barcola, 20, is expected to reject a move to Stamford Bridge in favor of one to Paris Saint-Germain (90min), leaving Chelsea with few options and little time left in the transfer window.

Eberechi Eze, a teammate of Olise, is a player to keep an eye on, though, according to a recent article by Chelsea journalist Simon Phillips.

Phillips claimed that Eze was also involved in discussions about Olise’s unsuccessful transfer in his most recent Substack column.

Fabrizio Romano, a renowned transfer expert and columnist for CaughtOffside, has revealed that only a “crazy, crazy bid” from Chelsea—or any other club—would be taken into consideration when it comes to the possibility of selling the “untouchable” Eze.

According to Romano’s exclusive Substack column, “At the moment, I am not aware of any Chelsea contact for Eze.”.

“Only Manchester City gave him consideration last week, but the treble winners never sent a bid or initiated a negotiation because Hodgson and Crystal Palace view him as untouchable.

“Much more than the reported £60-65 million fee would be required in order for a bid to even be considered. The Eagles’ position is crystal clear: “Eze stays!”.

Eze, who has two more years left on his contract at Selhurst Park, has directly assisted in 26 goals over the course of 95 games across all competitions during his three years there.

Jose Mourinho breaks silence on Romelu Lukaku transfer as Chelsea face loan exit after flop

Jose Mourinho appears to have broken his silence on the move from AS Roma to Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku during the summer transfer window, although he did not give details of a deal. This is because there is only a week left on the market in most parts of Europe which would severely limit the options the Belgian has unless he moves before then. His career at Stamford Bridge has been a disappointment so far given the club paid £97.5million to bring him back in 2021 after playing in his formative years as a youngster.

While the 30-year-old got off to a good start, a mix of injuries and Covid affected his availability before an unauthorized interview with Sky Italia severed ties completely. The striker returned to his former club Inter Milan on loan for the season which ended in defeat in the Champions League final.

The Nerazzurri were keen on another return as Chelsea looked to sign him permanently this summer, but parted ways following rumors of a deal with Juventus. It seems unlikely that the Bianconeri can secure a move as Saudi Arabian teams have been rejected by the player.
