Mike Maignan, the goalkeeper for AC Milan, continues to pique Chelsea’s interest.
That’s what Calciomercato reported.
The Italian publication reports that Chelsea is still interested in Mike Maignan, who was linked to them during the summer.
The Evening Standard stated in June that Chelsea had looked into signing Maignan but were deterred by Milan’s £80m asking price.
In the end, Brighton and Hove Albion’s Robert Sanchez was acquired by the team.
Mike Maignan shouldn’t be a top priority right now.
Maignan is arguably one of the best goalkeepers in the world, according to his Milan teammate and former Chelsea striker Olivier Giroud, who called him “unbelievable.”.
Not many managers, in our opinion, would decline the opportunity to sign a player of that caliber.
If a chance does come up, Chelsea might want to take it into consideration. But for the time being, especially after acquiring Sanchez, the Blues should be concentrating on bringing in a center-forward rather than another goalkeeper.
They should prioritize signing a new center forward first.
They ought to start looking at other areas of the squad after they’ve resolved that.
However, given that Chelsea recently acquired Sanchez, the Spaniard would likely need to have a really bad season in order for Chelsea to go back on the hunt for another goalkeeper so soon.
And based on some of Sanchez’s performances so far this season, we don’t think the former Brighton player will have a terrible season.
More news…..
Chelsea is now looking to sign a “phenomenal” forward who could cost £175 million.

Victor Osimhen, a striker for Napoli, was a target for Chelsea during the summer transfer window.
Chelsea reportedly inquired about Victor Osimhen, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis valued him at £175 million at the time, according to the Daily Mirror.
If reports are to be believed, the Blues’ interest still exists despite the Serie A club’s obvious desire to hold onto their star player.
Osimhen has been elevated to No. 1 for Chelsea, according to a report from FootballTransfers last month.
In the race to sign him, they are the No. 1 target for the upcoming summer transfer window.
He had a fantastic season for Napoli last year, scoring 26 goals in 32 games.
Chelsea’s inquiries
It comes as no surprise to learn that Chelsea questioned Osimhen during the summer.
Osimhen was among the best in the world during the previous campaign, and they needed a new striker after their experiment with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang failed.
However, Nicolas Jackson had to do, and the 22-year-old has struggled under Mauricio Pochettino.
Just his second of the year, it came against Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday in the Carabao Cup.
In the end, we believe that Chelsea needed to sign a center-forward with more success and experience, like Osimhen, who has been dubbed “phenomenal” by Italian manager Walter Mazzarri.
But in the end, De Laurentiis demanded too much money from the Nigerian.
There appears to be some tension between the player and the club right now after Napoli released a TikTok video mocking Osimhen, so perhaps Chelsea or another team will try to capitalize on that in the upcoming season
