Liverpool: 18-year-old sensation ‘next in line’ for Anfield breakthrough

Liverpool have some exciting youngsters in their ranks at Anfield.

Liverpool have plenty of young talent waiting for a chance in the academy and Redmen TV presenter Paul Machin, speaking to GIVEMESPORT, has named the next player who could make the breakthrough as early as this season.

Jurgen Klopp has given plenty of opportunities to youngsters during his time at Anfield.

Over the years Liverpool have seen many young talents emerge in their academy, including Trent Alexander-Arnold, Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher and Robbie Fowler, to name but a few.
Alexander-Arnold, for example, got his chance at a young age and has been a mainstay in the team in recent years.

The latest player to break through is former Celtic winger Ben Doak.

Although he didn’t start his career in Liverpool’s youth team, the Reds signed him at the age of 15 and he began to impress at senior level. Machin previously told GIVEMESPORT that Doak has a bit of Michael Owen in him thanks to his speed and skill, which has Anfield fans on the edge of their seats.

Many youngsters have come through Liverpool’s academy and not had the career that many expected of them.

It’s a common theme across many English clubs, with many players having the world at their feet the day before they fly through the football pyramid.
With Curtis Jones, Alexander-Arnold and Doak establishing themselves within the senior squad, Liverpool fans will be waiting for the next academy product to emerge.

The Reds are currently playing in the Europa League, which presents a great opportunity for Klopp to provide opportunities to those who might struggle to break into the Premier League XI. Against LASK earlier this month, Doak, Harvey Elliott and Stefan Bajcetic were named the starting XI as Klopp rotated his team around Europe.

The Reds paid a whopping £1.5million for the now 18-year-old Newcastle United player in 2021. Klopp handed Clark his Premier League debut last season, taking him out from the bench in Liverpool’s 9-0 win over Bournemouth.

Redmen TV’s Machin reckons Clark looks to be the next player to break through at Anfield.
The presenter adds that he would not be shocked if the youngster had the opportunity to start in the Europa League before the end of the season and that he is perhaps only a season away from being a useful player for Klopp.

With Clark primarily being a central midfielder, it might be difficult for the youngster to become a guaranteed starter at Anfield in the near future.
Klopp benched Ryan Gravenberch and Wataru Endo against Tottenham Hotspur, showing the talent he had at his disposal in the middle of the park.

However, Clark has shown he can produce at numerous positions, which could give him an edge. The Europa League could be the perfect opportunity for Clark to test himself against quality opponents, especially if Liverpool qualify with games to spare.

Gary Neville gives one reason why Liverpool won’t be title contender this season

Gary Neville was speaking after Liverpool’s 2-1 loss to Tottenham in the Premier League.

Even though Liverpool has its spirit back, according to Gary Neville, they won’t be a title contender this year in the Premier League.

The Reds lost their first game of the year against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday night after a strong start to the season.
However, a number of contentious decisions made by referee Simon Hooper and VAR official Darren England cast a shadow over the game.

When it comes to the Premier League standings, Jurgen Klopp’s team would have replaced Manchester City if they had defeated Spurs at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Wolverhampton Wanderers had earlier in the day defeated Pep Guardiola’s squad 2-1.

And even though Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Ryan Gravenberch all signed with Liverpool in the summer in an effort to overhaul their midfield, Neville thinks the Reds might still be lacking a “true holding player,” which would prevent them from contending for the title this year.

They definitely have a fighting spirit, as Klopp’s teams always do, the former defender said on his Sky Sports podcast.
They won’t compete for the title, in my opinion.

The fact that they don’t have a true holding player will present challenges, but their midfield is better and has adapted more quickly than I anticipated.

They’re in a respectable situation. Klopp might not be a title contender this year, but give him a few more transfer windows, and he might have something truly special.

“If Nunez, Diaz, Salah, Jota, Gakpo, and Gravenberch can start to build something this season, they might be in a position next season where they can challenge once more with one or two more additions.
Not far away, in fact.

Klopp will be in a better position than he was during the transfer window, when he was unsure of what would happen and Liverpool supporters were a little disappointed that they wouldn’t be able to sign the necessary midfielders.
