Summer release clause for Liverpool target after failing Chelsea move

Michael Olise, a reported transfer target for Liverpool, has a release clause in his Crystal Palace contract that will go into effect this summer.

As per a source, the Reds have been constantly observing Olise, and on December 30, they sent their “top scouts” to see the attacking midfielder score two goals in the 3-1 victory over Brentford.

Olise is reportedly considered among the long-term alternatives for Mohamed Salah, whose status at Anfield after the summer is uncertain despite the 31-year-old’s record 2023 season.

This season, Olise has been in excellent form for Palace, tallying five goals (his highest Premier League return to date) and logging one assist in nine games.

The France of London birth The Under-21 standout is still qualified to play senior international football for England, France, Nigeria, or Algeria. He has experience in the academies of Arsenal, Chelsea, and Manchester City.

After that, Olise signed a contract extension at Selhurst Park that will keep him with the team through 2027.
