Egypt’s manager gives an update on Liverpool star Mohamed Salah’s latest injury.

Mohamed Salah’s fitness will be a worry for Liverpool after he was taken off due to injury during Egypt’s Africa Cup of Nations match against Ghana.
Although Mohamed Salah’s injury isn’t “dangerous,” Egypt’s manager Rui Vitoria acknowledges that it’s too soon to tell after the Liverpool star caused a stir at the Africa Cup of Nations.
The 31-year-old was substituted off the pitch at the half of their AFCON Group B matchup with Ghana, which ended in a 2-2 draw. After their point against Mozambique in the group opener, Egypt needed to avoid losing to maintain their hopes of making it to the knockout stages.
In their last game, Vitoria’s team will play Cape Verde in an attempt to secure advancement, though it’s unclear if Salah will be able to play. Liverpool will be keenly watching the situation with their star forward, who has already missed victories over Arsenal and Fulham. Depending on how far Egypt move in the tournament—the final is set for February 10—he may miss an additional five games even if he is injury-free.
Just before the half, Salah was sent off for breaking during an Egyptian counterattack. The Liverpool player was on his haunches as play went on, and he swiftly gave Ahmed Hegazi the armband. According to Vitoria, it is too soon to determine the full scope of the issue, but the CEO is optimistic that it is “not dangerous”.
“Hopefully not (a major issue). The nature of the issue is still unknown to us. Although that was an issue in the first half, I hope it’s not a major one,” he remarked.
We could only make two substitutes in the second half, so it was a challenging situation for us. I’m not sure now, though. Though I don’t think it’s harmful, it’s still early to see, so let’s see if Salah recovers
With a victory over Mozambique on Friday, Cape Verde hopes to increase their lead at the top of the group to four points. Egypt leads Ghana and Mozambique by one point after two games.

18-year-old wonder kid to spark bidding battle between Liverpool and Barcelona
Because of their recent success in the Premier League, Liverpool is once again a very desirable place for football players to play.
Due to the Reds’ rich heritage, they will always hold a unique place in English football lore, and Jurgen Klopp hopes to carry on the legendary Anfield era.
Against the backdrop of the Covid epidemic, the German team won their first Premier League title and their first English top flight victory in thirty years, but they were unable to raise the trophy in front of their supporters.
Liverpool lost a number of players, mostly from midfield, last summer, and ended up in the Europa League instead of its “big brother,” the Champions League, after an unremarkable 2022–2023 season.
But any concerns the Anfield supporters may have had about the team’s immediate future have been immediately allayed as Klopp has the team doing incredibly well once more.
There are many reasons to think that this could be another historic season, on par with those in the more distant and recent past. Liverpool is currently atop the Premier League table based solely on merit, and they have an advantage going into the second leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final. They also appear very confident in Europe.
In light of this, Fichajes reports that the Reds will compete with Barcelona for the signature of highly regarded 18-year-old Momodou Sonko, who will join for Swedish team BK Hacken for just €10 million.
