After learning of his leaving, Jurgen Klopp applauded his players’ response and vowed to “fight for everything” for the duration of his tenure.
Speaking following his announcement that he will leave the team this summer, the manager went on to discuss the “important” task of telling a few people the news before it was made public.
This Is Anfield is aware that Klopp made his decision just before training on Friday morning, and the manager has stated that the team’s reaction was “outstanding.”
“I felt a sense of relief when I decided to be honest with myself,” the boss said during a special press conference at
During a special news conference at the AXA Training Centre, the boss said, “I felt relief when I decided to be honest with myself.”
“I spoke with the players today, so it’s mixed, but I’m not as emotional as I will be when it comes to it finally.”
“I had to inform our supporters and the players, which were the two most essential things I had to do. I’m not sure how the supporters responded, but the players’ response was excellent.
We’ve known each other for a long time, so they know that I don’t say things like walk away or something like that, so it was very fantastic.
“I completely agree that we have a tonne of other things to accomplish. I have had a lot of conversations in the past several days when I had to inform people a little sooner than I had to inform the public, so there isn’t much emotion yet.
“Aside from that, it’s just the proper thing to do. There were a few tears, but that’s typical after spending so much time together.
“As we organise the present, the club needs time to plan for the future, and that’s precisely what will happen right now.
The players and I have a really close relationship, so they haven’t asked any questions yet because we are pros.
“The boys are in a great mood. When I told them, it wasn’t like they were getting up and throwing a party; it was just a heads-up.”
It’s not like other circumstances, where a manager talks about getting fired in a dressing room and then walks off, which isn’t what happened here.
“The guys and I are fully committed to growing even more together in this circumstance.
Additionally, as I mentioned before, there was no assurance that we would win anything this season, so we should attempt to make the most of it.
“There was never a guarantee that we would win anything this season, and there never is now, as I stated in an attempt to wring every last bit out of it.
“The good news is that I am here to give it my all; we will fight for everything and we will be fully committed to it.”
“I just know that while I can perform the job quite well now, I cannot do it in the future, so that is what I will do.”
