Jurgen Klopp provides the most recent update on Liverpool's injuries, Before Chelsea and the Carabao Cup final

It’s a struggle for players like Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah to get ready for the Wembley match.

Jurgen Klopp is doubtful whether any of Liverpool’s injured players will be available for Sunday’s Carabao Cup final match against Chelsea.

Relegation-fighting Luton gave a weakened Reds team a fright on Wednesday night, but a strong second half performance from Harvey Elliott, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo, and captain Virgil van Dijk saw all four players score.

Liverpool’s 4-1 comeback victory sent them four points clear atop the Premier League standings and guaranteed that they would remain there when they resume top-flight play following this weekend’s trip to Wembley.

Due to a conflict with the Carabao Cup final, the match against Luton was moved forward, leaving the hosts shorthanded by 11 first-team players. Darwin Nunez and Mohamed Salah were among those sidelined, along with Diogo Jota, Curtis Jones, Alisson Becker, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dominik Szoboszlai, Thiago Alcantara, Joel Matip, Stefan Bajcetic, and Ben Doak.

After scoring with an incredible lob, Nunez knew something was wrong, and at halftime of Saturday’s expensive 4-1 victory over Brentford, he was substituted. Jones also had an injury in the first half, while Jota, who is now anticipated to be sidelined for months, was carried off the pitch.

After making his first appearance since sustaining a hamstring injury while travelling with Egypt to the Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast last month, Salah was reportedly experiencing muscle tiredness.

Hungarian midfielder Szoboszlai was earlier mentioned by Klopp as having a remote chance of playing against Chelsea, even though Alexander-Arnold and the other Liverpool absentees had already been ruled out of the championship game.

After the victory over Luton, Klopp—who gave young players like Bobby Clark, James McConnell, and Jayden Danns opportunities off the bench—was asked if he had any updates on the health of Salah and Nunez. He said, “No.” We have no knowledge at all.We shall see, but like I stated prior to the game, we will proceed as long as there are 11 players.

Will we have a lot of support? Without a doubt not. This was amazing tonight. Since we faced them [Chelsea], they have really progressed, and it will be difficult.”

Regarding the possibility of any injury comebacks at Wembley, Klopp subsequently said, “I don’t know, I don’t know if these boys can go again,” in an interview with BBC Sport.

“We learn the lessons and we wait for further information and on Friday we will think how we play the final.”

In response to a question about injury updates from reporters during his post-Luton press conference, Klopp said, “No.” To be honest, I have no idea if these boys can play again. We don’t need to make the situation any better than it is right now; it’s not terrific at all.

“I’m so glad all the kids came on and had fun. Jayden Danns, who is Dannsy, thanked his boss fifty times.” I’m thrilled that I could provide him with that chance; the guys certainly deserve it.However, we clearly have a lot of really crucial games coming up soon; we just have to wait and see.

I’m not sure and I’m unable to comment on it.However, I had no idea that things would turn out the way they did after Brentford. Let’s see, then. One thing remains true: we’ll go for it as long as we have 11. All I can say is that.
