The star of Liverpool acknowledges that he might be forced to follow Jurgen Klopp and depart in the summer.

Since joining Liverpool, Sepp van den Berg has been sent out on loan multiple times, and the Dutchman has acknowledged that he might have to move out of Anfield permanently next summer.

Sepp van den Berg, a defender for Liverpool, said that he could have to quit the team in the summer because of his lack of playing time.

The 22-year-old centre defender, who came to Liverpool from PEC Zwolle when he was a teenager, made his EFL Cup and FA Cup debuts for the Reds in 2019–20. He has been loaned out several times and hasn’t played in the Premier League despite being on the bench for a number of games.

Although he is presently a regular player in the Bundesliga, he acknowledged that if he doesn’t get enough playing time—his Liverpool contract expires in 2026—he may have to go elsewhere.

Van den Berg said to Voetbal Nieuws (via the Mirror) that “if I go back to Liverpool, they might want me to stay.” If it appears that I won’t be getting much playing time, I may decide to quit. Playing is incredibly essential to me.”

The star of Liverpool acknowledges that he might be forced to follow Jurgen Klopp and depart in the summer.

“I didn’t think I would be starting next to Virgil [van Dijk] in past years.” What my chances are going to be like next summer is still unknown to me. I believe that I’m doing well. I’m able to play at Liverpool. I’m competitive. However, starting over is not the same. It’s difficult to defeat [Ibrahima] Konate and Virgil. I anticipate difficulty.”

Is Sepp van den Berg supposed to remain at Liverpool?

As Liverpool defeated Brentford 4-1 on Saturday, Van Dijk and Konate started as the starting centre back duo. Although Joel Matip has also started games in the middle, his future is uncertain due to a significant injury and an expiring contract.

After coming on at the half, Van den Berg’s countryman Cody Gakpo contributed a goal and an assist off the bench to help lead the team to victory. After the triumph, the former PSV player told club reporters, “I think we have to keep the feeling what we have at the moment and just build on that.”

“Now, only significant games should be included. We must maintain our focus and fitness and we need everyone.”

Darwin Nunez “felt something,” according to manager Jurgen Klopp, and that’s why Cody Gakpo entered the game. Nunez’s health is now a concern for Liverpool, as is the health of Curtis Jones and Diogo Jota, who were also forced to leave the game early.

Xabi Alonso speaks out about the connection between Bayern Munich and Liverpool after making “contact.”

Xabi Alonso speaks out about the connection between Bayern Munich and Liverpool after making "contact."

In response to inquiries about his future, Xabi Alonso has addressed rumours that he has been contacted by Bayern Munich and Liverpool over their respective manager searches.

Xabi Alonso has responded to rumours over his future in light of his connections to Bayern Munich and Liverpool. The head coach of Bayer Leverkusen declined to say if he has spoken with either team.

The consensus is that Alonso will replace Jürgen Klopp as manager when the German departs at the end of the current campaign. However, other teams are also considering the former midfielder’s services besides the Reds.

Alonso is reportedly very high on Bayern’s list of candidates to succeed Thomas Tuchel. Whether Bayern surpasses Leverkusen in the Bundesliga race or not, the former Chelsea manager is also expected to leave at the end of the current campaign.

As of right now, Alonso’s team leads the dominant Bavarian team by eight points and is undefeated in all leagues this season. Due to his recent success, the former Spain international has drawn a lot of interest; as a result, two of his former clubs are currently searching for a new manager.

Bayern and Liverpool have also gotten in touch with Alonso’s management, according to Florian Plettenberg of Sky Germany. The latter team sees him as their preferred Tuchel substitute. However, Alonso declined to comment on his future this week.
Bayern, Liverpool?

“I don’t have anything new to share,” Alonso (per the ECHO) stated. “I am without a doubt the coach of Bayer Leverkusen at the moment. I have nothing fresh to say about the future.

“Have I heard from Bayern via phone? That is merely conjectural. Once more, I have nothing fresh to share.”

According to Liverpool.com, Alonso will naturally keep his cards close to his vest. He most likely won’t respond to us definitively, at least not while Leverkusen is competing for the Bundesliga championship.

The former midfielder for Liverpool is in an interesting situation. Even though he has only been in charge of Leverkusen for one complete season, two of the top teams in the world are vying for his services.

To make sure it doesn’t pass up what would be an incredible chance, Liverpool may need to move quickly not only in the manager search but also in the hiring of a new sporting director.
