Every Liverpool supporter will shiver after reading Virgil van Dijk's remarks on his title dream.

By leading the Reds to victory this season, Virgil van Dijk hopes to cause Liverpool to “explode”.

Liverpool’s fate is in their hands with nine Premier League games remaining in 2023–2024.

The Reds would be crowned champions for the second (and last) time under Jurgen Klopp if they won all nine of the remaining games.

Naturally, Van Dijk played a significant role in Liverpool’s most recent championship run in 2019–20, and as club captain, he now has the opportunity to replicate the feat.

The opportunity to properly celebrate in front of supporters would make this year’s success even more sweeter, considering the Reds’ final Premier League trophy lift was held behind closed doors due to Covid limitations.

Van Dijk said to TNT Sports how, even after four years, the unresolved matter surrounding the festivities continues to motivate him.

“We went through it once without the fans present. I want the supporters to be there with us, so it motivates me even more to succeed,” Van Dijk remarked.

“When we hold the trophy, I want the city to blow up.” That is the cause of our war. We have been fighting for that from the beginning of the preseason.

We thus expect that all of our sacrifices will be repaid. It’s also what the other two teams are doing.

It’s what makes football so beautiful. To play, win, and maybe come out on top in the end, we must battle as hard as we can.

EMOTIONAL FAREWELL

Van Dijk also talked about his boss, who lured him back to Anfield at the beginning of 2018, who was about to leave.

The Dutchman acknowledged that the season’s last farewell will be “emotional,” but he argued that the chance to end Klopp’s tenure on a high is another important driving force in the final stretch.

“I hold the manager in high regard.” My decision to join Liverpool is something I will always be grateful for. I’ll be appreciative forever,” he declared.

“He made my dream come true with what we accomplished at the club.” It is unique, and I will always value it. Though we still have work to do, we will surely miss him.

Not only will we attempt to accomplish this just for him. We will make an effort to achieve it for all Liverpool supporters worldwide as well as for ourselves and the fans.

“The season finale will undoubtedly be emotional, but let’s make it positive so that we have something to rejoice in.” We’ll see. However, it is certain that he will be missed.
