The ankle injury that Liverpool defender Conor Bradley sustained during Sunday’s unexpected Premier League loss to Crystal Palace is anticipated to keep him out of action for the remainder of April.

Since January, Bradley has established himself as a regular starter for Liverpool and has shown promise. In fact, his rise may have contributed to Trent Alexander-Arnold’s decision to move permanently into midfield in order to take full advantage of his passing range.

However, during Palace’s visit, the 20-year-old was forced off early in the second half. Alexander-Arnold, making his first appearance since February after recovering from a knee injury, took his place.

Bradley’s ankle injury is expected to keep him out of the lineup for up to three weeks, which means he might not be eligible for selection until late May. This eliminates the Northern Ireland international from the upcoming Premier League matches against Fulham, Everton, and West Ham United as well as Thursday’s Europa League quarterfinal second leg against Atalanta.

Bradley may also still be questionable for Tottenham Hotspur’s May 5 visit to Anfield, which also happens to be Jurgen Klopp’s farewell game at the stadium before he departs.

It suggests that Alexander-Arnold might start the match in Bergamo against Atalanta, where Liverpool will have a difficult time winning the tie after suffering a shocking 3-0 loss in the first leg the previous week.

If Klopp is unwilling to take a chance on Alexander-Arnold right away—especially with Bradley sidelined and the Premier League title fight intensifying—he can instead start Joe Gomez, who is a versatile player. The England international, who had previously played at right-back many times this season, lost his spot as a stand-in on the left when Andrew Robertson recently returned to full fitness.

On loan from Liverpool to Hull City, Fabio Carvalho continued his incredible scoring streak in the Championship on Saturday with another goal.

Hull City defeated Queen’s Park Rangers 2-0 on Saturday thanks to another goal from Fabio Carvalho. With so, he continues his incredible recent record in the Championship.

The Portuguese playmaker scored a wonderful goal after running deep behind the QPR defence to take advantage of a through-ball. Then, for a 2-0 lead, the Liverpool loanee swept it home with abandon.

Carvalho has now made 16 appearances for Hull and scored eight goals, but his current form is even better. Ultimately, he needed a few games to get comfortable.

Carvalho, however, has seven strikes in his last ten games. In addition, he has scored five goals in his last six games and four in his previous four.

The 21-year-old has also routinely scored significant goals. There were braces against Cardiff City in a 3-1 victory, strikes that saved points against West Brom and Leicester City, and the game-winning goal against Southampton.

It’s just what the athlete needed after such an absurdly bad start to the season. That might even be sufficient to save his Liverpool career.

THE FUTURE OF FABIO CARVALHO

Carvalho was projected to be a great player on loan at RB Leipzig, where he spent the first part of the season. Rather, he played in just 158 Bundesliga minutes over the course of six months.

Something had to give. Carvalho was relegated back to the Championship by Liverpool, where he played some of his greatest games of the season.

It’s turned out to be a brilliant move. In his first season at Anfield, Carvalho was a bit of an oddball, if only because manager Jurgen Klopp believed he needed dependable, established numbers during a challenging campaign.

However, Carvalho’s loan with Hull demonstrates that his talent is still very much present, and at age 21, there is still time for him to succeed at Liverpool. If he wanted a chance to impress the new manager in preseason, he had to perform well in the second half of the season, and we believe he has now earned that opportunity.
