Liverpool wants a Premier League defender, according to pundit “they’re looking at.”

Marc Guehi

Ahead of a hectic summer at Anfield, Liverpool has begun their transfer plans.

The last two months’ performances have altered the trajectory of the Reds’ season, which was headed for a spectacular finish.

Europa League, FA Cup and Premier League were on the line for Jurgen Klopp’s team.

But in Klopp’s final season, they will only end the campaign with a Carabao Cup triumph.

The team is already planning for the summer transfer window as Arne Slot is set to succeed the German mastermind.

The center-back position is one that the team is eager to improve and is motivated to add a significant player to.

Although the supporters have urged the team to recruit a consistent striker, a wide player, or a midfielder, it appears that the center-back position is more appealing to the club.

On The Josh & Darko Show, journalist Sami Mokbel said that Liverpool is seriously contemplating signing Marc Guehi of Crystal Palace.

“I believe Marc Guehi is a compelling offer for several elite Premier League clubs, including Liverpool,” Mokbel clarified.

“If Crystal Palace were to sell him, this summer would be the best time to do it as he has two years left on his contract heading into the summer.

“Sadly, he had a knee injury a few weeks ago that necessitated surgery, but he’s getting closer to getting well and will undoubtedly return before the season is out. Based on my understanding, Liverpool is considering this as a viable possibility, which they appear to be considering seriously.

Liverpool needs superior defensive depth and quality.

Given that Joel Matip’s contract is likely to expire at the conclusion of this season, Liverpool would be wise to sign a central defender.

The club is quite concerned about Ibrahima Konate’s form, so signing a defender who can step in for him when necessary will be a wise decision.

The Palace defender is reportedly expected to cost around £50 million, but the Eagles are not in a good situation because he only has two years left on his deal.

The 23-year-old defender has nine caps for England, demonstrating how highly Three Lions manager Gareth Southgate regards him despite his lack of playing experience at the highest level.

Going to be leaving soon There are just two teams interested in this Liverpool midfielder.

Thiago, a midfielder for Liverpool, currently only has two alternatives for the summer.

This is in line with a recent rumour from Fichajes, which states that two Italian teams are interested in the seasoned Spanish midfield player.

After sustaining a muscle injury in February, Thiago, 33, is expected to depart Liverpool when his contract expires at the end of the current campaign.

What’s next for Thiago after his trade to Liverpool?

And now that his future is uncertain, the 33-year-old playmaker is reportedly drawing interest from Juventus and Inter Milan, albeit his next move has not yet been determined.

Thiago has played in Spain with Barcelona and Germany with Bayern Munich, but he hasn’t played in Serie A, which is one reason a transfer to Italy would be appealing to him.

However, it wouldn’t be shocking if Liverpool’s soon-to-be-leaving number six ended up in the Middle East before hanging up his boots, with clubs in the affluent Pro League of Saudi Arabia scheduled for a massive £2 billion summer buying binge.

Thiago, who won the FA and Carabao Cup under Jurgen Klopp, has spent four years at Anfield and has contributed directly to nine goals in 98 games across all competitions.
