Following Barcelona’s Luis Diaz transfer meeting, Liverpool’s position is very clear.

Barcelona’s top transfer target this summer is Luis Diaz, and the Colombian winger’s representation have already had fruitful discussions with Deco, the sporting director.
After speaking with his agency, Barcelona is apparently prepared to try and wrest Luis Diaz from Liverpool this summer.
In 98 games since joining the team for an initial £37 million from Porto in January 2022, Diaz has 24 goals and 13 assists. The Colombian international has established himself as a vital member of the Reds’ wing unit, but it appears he is uneasy now that Arne Slot has taken over for Jurgen Klopp.
Since March, there have been rumours of a summer transfer to Barcelona, and according to an AS article, they are moving on with their plans to recruit him. Two months ago, Barca’s sporting director Deco met with Diaz’s representatives, Carlos Van-Strahalen and Raul Pais Da Costa, and they were given some encouraging news.
Given that Diaz has a contract with Liverpool through the summer of 2027 and the club doesn’t want to lose him, Liverpool is in a strong negotiation position. Following earlier quotes ranging from €120 million (£102 million) to €140 million (£120 million), a price that Reds president Joan Laporta called “unfeasible,” Barcelona is ready for “tough negotiations” with the team and is so interested in Diaz that they would be willing to sell Raphinha in order to make room for him.
Despite their current financial difficulties, Barcelona has always found innovative ways to attract fresh top players. They are about to recruit former Germany manager Hansi Flick and are getting ready to restructure the team in order to usher in a new era after falling far short of Real Madrid in La Liga.
They recently fired Xavi Hernandez. Part of their excitement in signing Diaz comes from his father, Luis Manuel Diaz, who recently acknowledged that it would be a dream for the forward to sign with Barcelona. He told Cadena Ser in March that “there was never anything serious with Real Madrid or Atlético [in 2022].”
“Liverpool has always been more committed to signing Luis. Our hope hasn’t wavered yet.Luis is performing admirably, and Spanish teams are constantly involved in the market.”
Although Klopp’s team finished third in the Premier League, Diaz had a mixed season with Liverpool, contributing 13 goals and five assists in 51 appearances. However, the team did win the Carabao Cup. After the campaign ended, he made it clear that he was content and eager to continue playing under Slot.
“We didn’t finish as well as we had wanted, that much is certain. We needed to win the league and every competition we participated in. Unfortunately, Diaz informed the club website, “the results lately could not be achieved.” “Although we didn’t win as a team, we had a respectable season on the whole and as individuals. To have the ideal season, there are a lot of things that need to be improved. However, I’m glad to be here and feel content.”
