Van den Berg, who announced publicly that he intended to leave Liverpool after spending last season on loan at Mainz, has received an offer

Sepp van den Berg is rumoured to have asked Liverpool to lower their asking price for him so he can depart this summer.

Van den Berg, who announced publicly that he intended to leave Liverpool after spending last season on loan at Mainz, has received an offer from PSV Eindhoven.

PSV is eager to sign the Dutchman, according to Voetbal International, but not at Liverpool’s €20 million asking price.

Van der Berg wants to leave Anfield this summer, and PSV, the winners of the Dutch Eredivisie, is interested in signing him. This is because he probably won’t have many opportunity to play regular first-team games with the Reds next season.

The player’s intentions are now clear as Van den Berg’s reps beg Liverpool to reduce their asking price.

The defender believes the Reds are asking for too much money, especially since he only has two years left on his deal.

His thoughts have changed due to PSV, and according to Voetbal International, he and his management have informed Liverpool of their want to go as well.

The defender hasn’t made it into the first team since joining the team and has spent time away from Anfield on loan.

Van den Berg is clearly far down the pecking order and will have a difficult time breaking into the first squad at the Reds, as they currently have options in central defence with Virgil Van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, Joe Gomez, and Jarell Quansah.

Liverpool’s roster will grow by one defender.

Following a "transfer request," Liverpool may let go of a wanted player in order to sign Mohamed Salah's replacement.

Liverpool is anticipated to add a central defender to the squad this summer after being linked to a move for Leny Yoro of Lille.

Arne Slot’s squad will have a harder time finding a spot for the young defender in the upcoming campaign.

His career is currently in need of a change of scenery, and Liverpool should be able to recoup some of its costs by selling him and using the money to make some summer transfers.

Although the Reds have not yet begun their transfer window operations under the new manager, they are anticipated to add midfield and defence players.

Manager of Uruguay Shares Important Defensive Plan Against Liverpool Star

Luis Diaz

During this Copa America 2024, Uruguay and Colombia placed first in their respective groups. Although Luis Diaz of Liverpool is a star player, La Celeste manager Marcelo Bielsa is more interested in his teammate James Rodríguez.

After four games, Rodríguez has one goal and five assists, making headlines. But Uruguay’s defensive strategy centres on Diaz, and in a Tuesday media statement, Bielsa said his team cannot afford to allow Diaz room.

Diaz scored a heads-up goal in the 5-0 victory over Panama, and it appears the former Leeds United manager wants his players to stay away from the same mistakes the Central American club made.

“Díaz is going to thrive if we defend with 40 metres behind us,” Bielsa said to the press (via Diario AS). “He enjoys having room behind him, and he will still find ways to score even if we defend directly in front of the goal. In games, you want to create opportunities for yourself while trying to prevent the opposition from attacking. People will always inquire about a backup plan, though, if you are unable to dominate in the opponent’s half.

There isn’t one; all you need to do is carry out plan A to the best of your ability. A compact squad wants to gain control by attacking, but they also need to know how to defend in case they are unable to. Similar to how we attack, Colombia does the same.

When necessary, we defend; after that, we just have to wait and see. Under manager Nestor Lorenzo, Colombia will want to build on their outstanding performance. They have won 27 straight games, and they may either extend this winning streak against Uruguay or end in defeat and miss out on the Copa America final.
