Ferdi Kadioglu

Liverpool and Manchester United will compete with many other clubs across Europe for the signature of Turkey international Ferdi Kadioglu during the summer transfer window.

Liverpool and Manchester United are reportedly vying for the signature of Fenerbahce striker Ferdi Kadioglu. According to sources, the Turkish full-back shone while away with the national squad at Euro 2024 and is now garnering interest from clubs across the Premier League.

According to Calciomercato, Liverpool and United have joined the growing list of clubs in Europe keeping an eye on Kadioglu. Arsenal, Juventus, and Newcastle United are among the other clubs linked with the defender’s transfer.

The 24-year-old can play on either flank and would be a valuable addition for new Liverpool manager Arne Slot, who may aim to shift Trent Alexander-Arnold into a more permanent midfield role in future.

The Turkish giants are apparently opposed to the player’s departure, but if he does leave, they will demand around $33 million (€30 million/£25 million). Liverpool has yet to complete a signing in the summer transfer window, but the Red Devils have been one of the busier teams, pursuing other targets such as Joshua Zirkzee and Matthijs de Ligt.

However, if any team wants to recruit Kadioglu, they would most certainly face a big stumbling block this summer, as new manager Jose Mourinho seeks to retain one of the club’s top players. “Our president wants our club to develop, not regress,” Mourinho said Hurriyet when questioned about Kadioglu’s and other team members’ futures.

“This means keeping the greatest players and not selling them. The primary priority is to get the players we have back on the team. “This will happen gradually.”

Liverpool.com reports that Liverpool is looking to add depth to its defence during the summer transfer season. Andy Robertson and Alexander-Arnold both missed lengthy stretches of time last season, so having a guy like Kadioglu who can cover numerous positions could be crucial in the coming season. At 24 years old, he is still a long way from his peak and might thrive under Slot.

Fourth addition of Arne Slot’s backroom team confirmed by Liverpool FC

Johnny Heitinga

An experienced coach from Manchester City has joined Arne Slot’s backroom team to fill a significant position at Liverpool.

Aaron Briggs, a former first-team performance analyst for Man City, was reportedly set to become the team’s new elite development coach on Monday.

His job is set to begin immediately, and Liverpool has now officially confirmed his employment, albeit with the title of first-team individual development coach.

Along with head of first-team goalkeeping coaching Fabian Otte, lead physical performance coach Ruben Peeters, and assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff, Briggs becomes the fourth member of Slot’s backroom staff.

The post is meant to be a continuation of Vitor Matos’s, who served as a vital link in the youth pipeline by serving as a mediator between the academy and the first team.

Despite being only 37 years old, he has experience working with FIFA as a consultant and has held positions at Preston, Tottenham, City, Monaco, and Wolfsburg.

During his tenure with the aforementioned clubs, Briggs had a number of positions, including coach for tactical analysis, academy and first team performance analyst, and UEFA A, B, and Pro licence holder.

In relation to Liverpool’s academy, they are about to sign Chelsea’s highly regarded Rio Ngumoha, a thrilling 15-year-old winger who has realised there is a path to the first team at this organisation.

There’s another appointment coming up.

Johnny Heitinga

Slot made reference to two appointments during his first press conference, and there might be another one coming out soon.

Former Everton defender Johnny Heitinga is reportedly one of several candidates “under consideration” for the position of first-team coach, which the team is now searching for.

“All I can say now is that I have been approached and that my agent Rob Jansen and I are in conversation,” he said earlier in the week, confirming the conversations.

It is hoped that these appointments—including that of a new set-piece coach—will be made quickly because the preseason has already begun.
