Following Brendan Rodgers’ admission, Matt O’Riley sends Liverpool a strong transfer message

The most recent rumours and rumours on transfers involving Liverpool, as Celtic player Matt O’Riley is still being linked to a summer move to Anfield.
As he continues to be linked to a move to Liverpool, Celtic player Matt O’Riley sent a strong transfer message in the early hours of the morning. In recent days, it has been reported that the Reds are interested in signing the 23-year-old, who is expected to leave the Scottish Premiership club this summer.
Recent reports have linked Liverpool to a move for O’Riley, but they are not the only team interested in signing him. Serie A team Atalanta has also reportedly made moves for the midfield player, and they have already been reported to have had bids rejected.
Sky Sports recently revealed that Celtic turned down a third offer from Atalanta that was valued at over £15 million. It is unclear how much the Scottish club is willing to pay for the midfield player.
In a preseason friendly on Saturday night, Celtic defeated Chelsea 4-1. The Premier League team was playing. At the Notre Dame Stadium in Indiana, Michael Johnston, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Luis Palma all scored goals in addition to O’Riley.
O’Riley’s goal was the result of a clever Celtic play that saw the Danish international find himself in space inside the penalty area. The midfield player was instrumental in Celtic’s decisive victory, putting his shot past Chelsea custodian Robert Sanchez.
Even though it was just a preseason friendly, O’Riley’s performance might have given prospective teams—like Liverpool—some cause for concern. O’Riley led Celtic with 18 goals and 19 assists from midfield last season, sparking more rumours regarding his future this summer.
Brendan Rodgers was questioned earlier this week about O’Riley’s future and the rumours that clubs were interested in luring him away from Glasgow after Celtics defeated Man City.
He remarked, “We’re all pretty at ease about it [O’Riley’s future].” Although each athlete has a certain worth, we think highly of him, and we’ll work hard to help him grow while he’s here.
“An update is not available. You saw him in the match the other night [against Man City], so we’re not too tense.”
