Arne Slot’s team improved their preseason preparations on Wednesday when Liverpool defeated Arsenal 2-1.
After defeating Premier League rivals Arsenal on Wednesday night, Liverpool’s preseason preparations have drawn attention. The Reds defeated the Gunners impressively thanks to goals from Mohamed Salah and Fabio Carvalho. The Gunners are predicted to contend for the league title again in the upcoming season.
As Liverpool got closer to the start of their season, there was still a lot of chatter about transfers, both coming in and moving away.
We have compiled some of the most recent rumours about the Reds, who haven’t exactly made waves in the transfer market.
Ancelotti claim
According to several reports, Trent Alexander-Arnold may be heading to Real Madrid this summer. Jude Bellingham may also play a role in persuading the defender to move to the Spanish city.
There are worries that Alexander-Arnold may depart this transfer window or for free the following year because his contract expires in the summer and he has not committed to his boyhood club for the long run.
Real has been strongly linked to a move for the 25-year-old, but after addressing Los Blancos’ transfer ambitions, Carlo Ancelotti may have allayed fears.
Recalling that there will be no more recruits, he informed reporters, “The squad is closed,” “David Alaba is recuperating, and [Jesús] Vallejo has returned. We have some very talented young centre backs in training, including Joan, Jacobo, and Raul Asencio. I think we have adequate coverage for this position.”
Anthony Gordon plan
Gordon scheme Speaking of Real Madrid, it has been stated that Newcastle has identified Turkish star Arda Guler as a potential Anthony Gordon successor.
Liverpool has great admiration for Gordon, and there is still a great deal of conjecture around whether or if the former Everton player will join up at Anfield in the upcoming weeks after Slot made an offer for him at the end of June.
Given that Guler is a transfer target, Spanish publication Defensa Central has speculated that the Toon Army may already be getting ready for life after the English winger.
Newcastle is reportedly “willing to go all out” to finalise a deal that would include an upfront payment of €60 million (£50 million) and add-ons totalling €20 million (£16 million).

Liverpool, Chelsea, and Arsenal are interested in the 26-year-old star, who may fetch £86 million
Viktor Gyokeres, a striker for Sporting CP, has been rumoured to leaving the team this summer.
The 26-year-old has excelled since joining the Portuguese division, and in all competitions last year, he scored 43 goals and grabbed 15 assists.
According to Football Insider, teams including Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Tottenham Hotspur have all expressed interest in signing the player.
The Swedish international has the ability to completely change all four clubs. He is considered by many to be one of the best goal scorers in European football at the moment.
Nicolas Jackson was a striker in La Liga before joining Chelsea last summer, but he hasn’t exactly impressed. The 26-year-old Sporting CP player would be the perfect addition for Chelsea, who are in need of an upgrade. He has established himself as a trustworthy goal scorer and will also provide creative support.
Similar to this, Tottenham is in desperate need of a trustworthy finisher since Harry Kane left. Gyokeres may change them in the latter third, making him the perfect addition.
Gyokeres is also desired by Liverpool and Arsenal. A dependable finisher would also be helpful for Liverpool, especially given Darwin Nunez’s recent play. The Uruguayan international is still a talented player, but in the previous campaign, he had trouble capitalising on clear opportunities. In the last third, Liverpool has to be more inventive.
Regarding Arsenal, the Gunners must replace Gabriel Jesus, who managed just four goals in the league the previous year. With him leading the line, they have no chance of winning the league championship.
All four teams may find the Swedish international striker to be the perfect fit, but it is unclear if they will formally express their interest in signing him. The striker’s contract contains an £86 million release clause, so it’s unlikely that he’ll be an inexpensive addition this summer.
