John Barnes identifies the Liverpool player who has most impressed him during the preseason

With three wins out of three, Liverpool’s preseason tour of the USA has come to an end.

With matches against Real Betis, Arsenal, and Manchester United scheduled, Liverpool’s schedule appeared to be challenging.

On the other hand, Arne Slot’s first official games in charge couldn’t have gone any better. No injuries, two competitors defeated.

Slot hasn’t had the entire Liverpool team at his disposal, but there are still indications that the Dutchman has been communicating with the players.

And Reds legend John Barnes has selected the most outstanding performer of the tour as Liverpool closes out its US campaign.

Jarell Quansah is singled out by John Barnes.

For the three games that Liverpool played, Slot used a total of 27 different players. Many of the first team players who are currently absent were from the academy.

There were many notable ones in there. After impressing Liverpool supporters with his performance against Real Betis, 17-year-old Trey Nyoni looked composed the entire tour.

Fabio Carvalho is another young player who has performed incredibly well. Carvalho’s confidence will have been greatly boosted by his goals against Arsenal and then United.

There were also other noteworthy exhibits. Harvey Elliott performed admirably, Kostas Tsimikas took a risk with Andy Robertson sidelined due to injury, and Mohamed Salah appeared to be his typical self.

However, when asked to select his best player over the course of the three games, Barnes selected Jarell Quansah in an interview with The Official Liverpool FC Podcast.

The legendary player from Liverpool responded, “Jarell Quansah.” “Quansah has performed incredibly well.

He does well defensively. Arne Slot wants someone with his strength, quickness, and skill level when it comes to playing basketball.

Barnes continued, including Curtis Jones and Conor Bradley as further players who he has his eye on. He said, “I believe Conor Bradley has done himself no harm at all.”

Naturally, Curtis is also included because he has visited the area whereas other midfield players haven’t. Thus, I believe he will also make a claim.

Jarell Quansah seizes the opportunity.

Some players have had the opportunity to solidify their place in Slot’s plans while others have taken lengthy summer vacations.

Even though it has only been three games and a month, Quansah has undoubtedly already accomplished that.

Despite this, the 21-year-old forced Ibrahima Konate to the bench late in the previous season by breaking into the starting XI.

Quansah has also established himself in Slot’s thoughts as the starting centre-back alongside to Virgil van Dijk, with Konate only making his comeback to the starting lineup on Sunday.

Barnes is entirely correct; Quansah has performed admirably in the US. He could not have done much more to let Slot know that he is prepared for greater responsibility after such a flawless run of games.
