Liverpool vs Real Madrid: Confirmed lineup, predicted team, and injury updates for Champions League
Share
Liverpool will be hopeful of having Trent Alexander-Arnold available for their crucial Champions League clash with Real Madrid on Wednesday night.
The defender was substituted during their victory over Aston Villa before the international break and later withdrew from the England squad due to a hamstring issue.
Alexander-Arnold also missed Sunday’s 3-2 win over Southampton in the Premier League, despite Slot suggesting the right-back might return “in between” the Madrid fixture and Sunday’s league match against Manchester City.
Harvey Elliott made a return to the bench on Sunday after recovering from a foot injury, providing additional options for Slot, but several key players remain sidelined.
Alisson Becker, Diogo Jota, and Federico Chiesa are not expected to be available for the visit of the European champions.
Alexis Mac Allister and Luis Diaz could both return to the starting lineup after being substitutes against Southampton, while Kostas Tsimikas is also a doubt after missing the game on Sunday due to a knock.
Liverpool’s predicted XI: Kelleher; Bradley, Konate, Van Dijk, Tsimikas; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Salah, Szoboszlai, Diaz; Nunez
Doubts: Alexander-Arnold, Tsimikas
Injured: Alisson, Jota, Chiesa
Time and date: 8pm GMT, Wednesday 27 November 2024
Venue: Anfield

Liverpool Makes Official Move to Acquire £33.7 Million Forward
Liverpool typically keep their transfer dealings under wraps, preferring to negotiate privately and only announce deals when they are close to completion. However, recent reports suggest a growing interest in Bundesliga striker Omar Marmoush.
The Egyptian forward has been impressive for Eintracht Frankfurt this season, tallying 11 goals and 7 assists in just 13 matches, statistics that warrant a significant move. According to Sport Bild, Liverpool has officially inquired about signing the 25-year-old.
With Mohamed Salah, arguably the best player from Egypt in the club’s history, currently on the team, Liverpool seems eager to build on his legacy with Marmoush. His contract runs until 2027, but Frankfurt might be open to letting him go for approximately £33.7 million. It remains to be seen if Liverpool will meet that asking price.
At 32, Salah may not have many top-level years left, as his contract expires in 2025 and he has yet to sign an extension, which could allow him to leave for free at the end of the season.
Overall, Marmoush would be a fantastic addition for Liverpool. While he may not directly replace Salah, he could still significantly enhance the squad. We will have to wait and see how this develops.
