After nearly nine years in command, Jurgen Klopp is set to quit Liverpool this summer. A fresh notion has been put up regarding the reasons behind his unexpected Anfield departure.

According to sources, one of the reasons behind Jurgen Klopp’s departure from Liverpool is the perception that the players no longer require his services.

When the German announced a few weeks ago that he will step down as manager of Anfield in the summer after nearly nine years in charge, it came as a shock. After a difficult season the previous year, Klopp swiftly got his squad back on track, and they are still as competitive as ever.

The manager, who oversaw a midfield makeover in the summer, was affected by them. Even though this new Liverpool team is still in its early stages, Klopp admits that they have advanced much faster than he had anticipated, and he can leave a lasting legacy, according to the Telegraph.

Klopp might have been encouraged to stay in his position a little while longer if the Reds had found it difficult to catch up and had lagged behind the first group, especially as his contract kept him in place until 2026.

The German realised last term that he was impervious to bullets. Klopp was never under fire despite their difficulties, which at one point saw them drop to eighth before ending in fifth. The Anfield fans continued to adore him, and the owners never considered selling him. The only way out would be the one he chose.

There were some close to Klopp who had noted a change in his manner even before the players were informed of his departure. It was overheard on the training ground that “he is managing like it is his last year” by someone who did not know he was leaving.

Others have noticed that the German seems to be handling things a little differently. He has chosen a team with greater daring and danger, and he has concentrated more than normal on integrating academy graduates into the starting lineup. One such person is Conor Bradley.

There was no hint when Klopp told Michael Gordon, president of Fenway Sports Group, in November that he was leaving. At that discussion, the German had requested more time to talk about a crucial subject, and Gordon naturally inquired as to if there was any chance he would change his mind.

As soon as he was informed, preparations for the next chapter in Liverpool’s history started. For several months, Klopp maintained his secret from everyone, but when his coaching staff found out and started preparing for what to do next, it was clear that he had to tell the team. At that point, it was inevitable that the truth would surface.

Liverpool turns down surprise Deadline Day transfer offer from Premier League club

Caoimhin Kelleher

The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool has turned down an offer for keeper Caoimhin Kelleher from Nottingham Forest.

The 25-year-old was valued at well than £20 million by The Reds, but Forest only offered £15 million for him.

Even though Alisson plays at a world-class level and he is merely Anfield’s second choice, he has recently been granted some opportunities.

He has made 34 appearances for Jurgen Klopp’s team overall, and he has often impressed.

Liverpool’s refusal to sell him is not surprising, especially considering there is still time in the transfer window to find a suitable successor.

The Reds are also rumoured to have based their asking price on Manchester City’s £19 million transfer of James Trafford to Burnley.

Former Arsenal striker wanted by Forest

According to Fabrizio Romano, Forest is attempting to investigate a late-transfer window move for former Arsenal star Chuba Akpom.

On deadline day, the Reds are seeking to strengthen their attack, and they are giving the Ajax player significant consideration.

This season, Akpom has made 20 appearances across all competitions and scored nine goals, attracting the interest of other Premier League teams.

Though it’s thought that Ajax won’t easily allow Akpom to go, they might be tempted with a big offer.

Although Fulham has also been connected to Akpom, it seems that Armando Broja of Chelsea is now the target.
