Three key players for Liverpool’s match against Chelsea today might be sidelined.

The first major trophy of the English season is up for grabs in this year’s Carabao Cup final.

Before he leaves this summer, Jurgen Klopp wants to win awards, and today is a big chance to do so.

Liverpool’s opponents are Chelsea, and the Reds will aim to build on their victory in 2022, when they defeated the Blues in the Carabao Cup final their route to a double-winning campaign.

Regretfully, Klopp may be missing three key players for Liverpool this afternoon.

Three missing from Liverpool at Wembley
Speaking this morning outside Wembley Stadium, Sky Sports correspondent Vinny O’Connor provided a concerning update.

Three key players for Liverpool's match against Chelsea today might be sidelined. The first major trophy of the English season is up for grabs in this year's Carabao Cup final.

According to O’Connor, the Liverpool team did not include Dominik Szoboszlai, Darwin Nunez, or Mohamed Salah when they arrived at Wembley.

Prior to today’s match, players will have been observing their surroundings and the Wembley pitch.

O’Connor, however, claims that the three Liverpool players were unable to be seen, which has led to concerns about them losing out.

“I have some unfortunate news to share with you. The group that exited the Wembley stadium did not include Mo Salah, Darwin Nunez, or Dominik Szoboszlai,” stated O’Connor. He continued, “We’re just curious what that says about the potential team Jurgen Klopp is going to put out.”

Salah did not play against Luton Town in midweek, but he did score and provide an assist when he came off the bench against Brentford last week.

Nunez was also not present against the Hatters, but it was anticipated that both players will return today.

However, neither this update nor Szoboszlai’s performance—who hasn’t played since the 4-1 league victory against Chelsea in January—are promising.

Perhaps Liverpool is attempting to manipulate Chelsea, but it would now be shocking to see Salah, Nunez, and Szoboszlai start against the Blues, dealing a serious blow to Klopp and company.
