According to journalist ‘he will be a Liverpool player…’ Liverpool on the verge of massive signing

Although the transfer window has closed, Liverpool is on the verge of finalizing the acquisition of a promising young talent.

In July, Fabrizio Romano reported that Liverpool had agreed to sign Rio Ngumoha from Chelsea’s academy. However, because Ngumoha only turned 16 this summer, Liverpool needed to complete a five-stage registration process with the Premier League before the transfer could be finalized.

On the Blood Red podcast, Paul Gorst explained that the registration process can be slow due to bureaucracy, but he confirmed that there have been no issues, and the transfer should be completed within the next two weeks.

Gorst noted: “I asked someone about that last week. He’s going through the Premier League five step registration thing apparently and that takes a little bit of time, but no concerns or issues. He will be part of the academy set up in the next two weeks. He will be a Liverpool player and one who academy staff are massively excited about.”

Since Ngumoha turned 16 in July, he will initially join Liverpool’s academy rather than competing for a first-team spot.

Respected journalists like James Pearce and Bence Bocsak have called Ngumoha a significant addition for Liverpool. He was also named player of the tournament when Chelsea won a national under-16 title last year.

Recent times have seen several young talents, including Ben Doak, Jayden Danns, Bobby Clark, Stefan Bajcetic, and Trey Nyoni, earn senior roles at Anfield.

As the summer transfer window closed, many young prospects either went out on loan or were sold. If Ngumoha impresses at the academy level, he might have the opportunity to join Arne Slot’s senior squad in the next few years, though securing a spot there would be challenging.

This deal has been close to completion for weeks, but Gorst’s update indicates that it might finally be wrapping up. We look forward to seeing how the 16-year-old performs in Liverpool’s youth ranks once the transfer is official.
