According to report – Liverpool determined to secure £38 million star

Liverpool have had a strong start under their new manager, Arne Slot, in the Premier League this season, with their defense remaining impregnable, having yet to concede a goal.

Virgil van Dijk has been a key player for Liverpool in recent years and has started the new season exceptionally well.

Nevertheless, his future at Anfield is uncertain as he is in the final year of his current contract, and there have been no talks of an extension yet.

Van Dijk is the only left-sided center-back available to Slot at the moment, while Jarell Quansah, Joe Gomez, and Ibrahima Konate are all more suited to the right-center-back position.

According to Caught Offside, Liverpool are looking to acquire a new left-center-back and have shown interest in Goncalo Inacio of Sporting CP. The Reds were interested in signing him this summer but were deterred by his £51m[€60m] release clause.

However, Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported last month that Sporting are willing to lower their asking price and might accept a reduced fee of around £38m.

Caught Offside also mentions that Newcastle United is competing for Inacio’s signature, and Manchester United had previously shown interest in him. Thus, Liverpool will face considerable competition from their rivals to secure a deal for Goncalo Inacio.

The 23-year-old is a left-footed center-back who can also play as a left-back if needed. He has demonstrated his abilities for Sporting CP under Ruben Amorim, contributing to their recent league titles.

Liverpool star confirms the deal as the club approaches its first summer addition

Alisson believes the team needs to get ready for the future and has disclosed that Liverpool informed him about their move for Giorgi Mamardashvili.

In spite of the Reds’ intense interest, Martin Zubimendi chose to stay at Real Sociedad, therefore Liverpool has had a quiet summer and have not added any players.

It is certain that Liverpool’s new manager, Arne Slot, would have like to add more players to his roster, but with less than a week left, there is a race against time to do so.

Alisson comments on Mamardashvili 

Goalkeeper Mamardashvili of Valencia, who is expected to spend the season on loan in Spain, is one player who could arrive; Liverpool and the Georgian international are in negotiations over a potential £30 million trade.

With this deal, the Reds have obviously thought about the future, and they have probably started making arrangements for life without Alisson, who has three more years left on his present contract at Anfield.

The Brazil international disclosed that he had been informed by Liverpool about signing the 23-year-old, and he believed it was a wise decision.

He told The Times, “The club needs to get ready for the future.”

“I’m becoming old, so we won’t be here forever! No, I still have a lot of youth, vitality, and something to offer this team. I want to give the club everything I can.

I am a goalkeeper. They’ll perform it for various roles as well. Since the contracts of many of our key players are about to expire, the club needs to get organised for the future.

“I believe it was a wise decision. I was aware of it [Mamardashvili] prior to it being shared on social media, and I find that to be a positive indication that the club values my opinions. They are acting appropriately, but as long as I am content with my contract here, the club is happy with me, and my family is happy here, I will stay.
