According to report: Liverpool might consent to a £40 million payment; Joe Gomez bid following a twist involving Aston Villa

If a good offer comes in, Liverpool will think about selling the defender Joe Gomez, sources have informed Football Insider.

If Diego Carlos leaves before the August 30 transfer deadline, Villa is interested in the 27-year-old, according to a report published by Football Insider on Monday, August 12.

Newcastle and Liverpool had previously discussed a deal including the England international and Anthony Gordon.

Although rumours of a possible transfer swirl, sources claim Gomez is devoted to the Reds; yet, he may be traded before the August 30 deadline.

It is anticipated that Liverpool will give serious consideration to bids of between £40–45 million.

Liverpool will give selling Gomez a serious consideration for £40–45 million

The adaptable defender, who can play on both wings as a full-back and as a natural centre-back, has shown value for the Reds in recent years.

Throughout the previous season, he was a constant for Liverpool, making 51 appearances in all competitions and starting 31 of them.

Former manager Jurgen Klopp liked Jarell Quansah, Virgil van Dijk, Ibrahima Konate, and Joel Matip in the centre-back position.

Even though they have added eight new players to the squad this summer, Aston Villa is still interested in Gomez.

Diego Carlos might be traded to make room for the transfer, and Tyrone Mings hasn’t fully recovered from his horrific knee injury.

Bobby Clark

Bobby Clark, a midfielder for Liverpool, is linked to a number of teams, including Leeds United.

According to reports, Liverpool turned down a fresh offer for Bobby Clark.

For £1.5 million, Clark left Newcastle United to join Liverpool three years ago, and he has advanced impressively on Merseyside. He participated in 11 senior games last season, making his Premier League debut, coming off the bench in the Reds’ victory against Chelsea in the Carabao Cup final at Wembley, and scoring his first senior goal in a 6-1 Europa League victory over Sparta Prague.

The 19-year-old, who sustained a back injury at the close of the previous season, is still expected to play in the preseason. But in the midfield hierarchy, he now behind players like Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, and Curtis Jones. Meanwhile, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi, a Spanish international, is a target for incoming head coach Arne Slot.

Red Bull Salzburg is attempting to force Clark to go to Austria as a result, and former Reds assistant manager Pep Lijnders is eager for a reunion. The Athletic reports that Salzburg’s most recent bid of £8.2 million was rejected by Liverpool. His value to the Reds is closer to £12 million.

Championship teams including Leeds United, Coventry City, and Norwich City have expressed interest in signing Clark on a loan; however, if an offer is accepted, Clark may leave the team permanently. Despite not playing in either of Liverpool’s preseason matches on Sunday at Anfield against Sevilla and Las Palmas, Clark is back in training following his injury. Clark posted a silent, black-and-white snapshot of himself on X, the former Twitter, on Sunday night. Some admirers surmise that the adolescent is hinting at his departure with this.

Liverpool has reached an agreement to sell Fabio Carvalho to Brentford for a fee as high as £27.5 million, marking their first major summer transfer. After the Reds friendly doubleheader, Slot told reporters, “From what I’ve been told, there is an agreement in place, but I haven’t spoken with our club.”

“I was fully focused today on this game, so I don’t know exactly what the status of him is, but that was, of course, the reason why he wasn’t selected today.”
