Jayden DannsNewcastle United was crushed by Liverpool’s under-18 team, led by two goals by Jayden Danns.

After recovering from an injury, Jayden Danns scored goals again to help Liverpool’s under-18 team defeat Newcastle United 5-1.

At the AXA Training Centre, the striker scored two goals in the first half as the Reds dominated the Magpies. Ben Trueman, Kieran Morrison, and USA youth international Keyrol Figueroa were also on target for Marc Bridge-Wilkinson’s team in the Premier League Cup.

In eight competitive games for the under-18s this season, Danns has now scored nine goals and provided two assists, winning every match at the level he has been playing in. The 17-year-old is quickly approaching his 2022–23 total, which saw him score 10 goals in 21 games.

Since he was eight years old, Danns has been a member of the Liverpool team. He has played just one cameo for the under-21s this season, in a 3-0 EFL Trophy victory over Morecambe. His next task will probably be to appear in Barry Lewtas’ setup more frequently.

Under-18s head coach Bridge-Wilkinson commented on Danns’ play on the club website last month, saying, “Dannsy is definitely getting some goals at the minute, that’s for sure.” We must continue assisting him in securing employment and in generating opportunities for him to do so, and we must also ensure that he is given the opportunities that we know he can handle. Although his season has gotten off to a wonderful start, there is still more that we may strive for.

Liverpool news: Mo Salah’s departure date is discussed, and Jurgen Klopp suffers Andre transfer blow

Liverpool is preparing for January, but a Premier League competitor has thrown a wrench in the gears, and Mohamed Salah’s future has once again become a focal point.

Liverpool, who currently sit second in the Premier League, has enjoyed their international break, but the hard work of this season is far from over.

The Reds moved up to the top of the standings with a convincing 3-0 victory over Brentford at Anfield. This Saturday, they take on Manchester City, the only team standing above them. Three points would be a huge lift for Jurgen Klopp’s team, as they are no strangers to competing with City for titles. However, Liverpool has obstacles off the pitch as well in their quest to reclaim their position as the best team in the world.

Reds ‘know’ Salah’s departure date

Earlier this month, Fulham CEO Alistair Mackintosh travelled to Brazil for in-person negotiations regarding the signing of Andre, a target for Liverpool. The Evening Standard reports that Fulham is reportedly considering a deal for the £30 million midfielder, who is also rumoured to be connected to Manchester United.

Andre might be a part of Fulham’s big January recruitment push as the Cottagers try to re-appoint manager Marco Silva. Liverpool faced an even greater challenge to sign the Brazil international when head coach Mackintosh witnessed Andre shine in the Copa Libertadores final, which Fluminense won 2-1.

John Barnes asserts that Liverpool is aware of Mohamed Salah’s departure date and that Reds supporters shouldn’t be concerned about interest from Saudi Arabian teams. Barnes anticipates that Salah, 31, who signed a new long-term contract in July 2022, won’t be cutting that deal short.

The former Anfield player stated, “He’s said he wants to stay at Liverpool for the remainder of his contract,” during a Quality Street sustainability campaign. “We don’t know when, but I’m confident Saudi Arabia will have the opportunity. For the next two years, that is where I expect him to stay at Liverpool; if it changes, then it does.”

Klopp’s No.2 sets strict rule

At Liverpool’s training facility, Pep Lijnders, Jurgen Klopp’s assistant, has posted a banner urging the first-team players to maintain high standards. The Athletic claims that Lijnders has admonished everyone with a motivational note affixed to the boot room door.

It begins with: “Standards are set by the ones who need to live them.” The announcement follows the addition of Salah, Trent Alexander-Arnold, and Virgil van Dijk to Liverpool’s senior leadership group this summer, which already included Andy Robertson and Alisson.
