Liverpool
After the replay idea, powerful media figures attacked Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp, the manager of Liverpool, can be quite fiery and outspoken when necessary, but he generally seems to be well-liked by the media, who pepper him with questions before and after games for their various organizations.
Because he never gives boring or monotonous answers and is happy to veer off topic while making a point, the German makes excellent television.
He does not agree with the blather that athletes spew into the media week in and week out.
No matter what, Klopp is happy to state the obvious.
Because of this, he has occasionally found himself on the wrong side of the FA, but part of what makes him so appealing is his openness and honesty.
Nevertheless, he might have finally gone too far, at least in the eyes of some media outlets.
The controversy surrounding the disallowed Luis Diaz goal against Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend is still making headlines, and it has only gotten worse since Klopp suggested in a press conference that perhaps a replay would be the answer.
Gary Neville of Sky Sports and Henry Winter, the chief football writer for the Times, have both given that short shrift.
You can’t replay the game. Every manager would then call for replays. That way madness lies. Jurgen Klopp has done so much for English football: the drama, joy and success of his football, bond with his players and fans, nurturing talent. But calling for a replay is ridiculous.

😂😂😂!! Can’t believe how Liverpool have grabbed defeat from victory in their handling of this ! They were wronged by a shocking mistake.End of! https://t.co/O47oT7gvlw

Both expressed their disagreement with Klopp’s viewpoint on X (formerly Twitter), and it’s likely that others share their viewpoint as well.
Even though the officials’ mistake was terrible, it was a genuine human error.
Replay requests would create an absurd precedent.
More news…….
Chris Sutton claims he is completely perplexed by what Liverpool just did.
Chris Sutton is having trouble understanding Liverpool’s recent statement regarding the PGMOL.
The Reds made a scathing statement toward the officials on Sunday, refusing to let the mistakes from their defeat to Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday go unpunished.
In an odd turn of events, the strongly worded response has drawn a lot of flak.
Former striker Sutton, who questioned Liverpool’s motivations for Mail Sport’s “It’s All Kicking Off” podcast, added his voice to the chorus of critics.
“They aren’t going to get the game replayed, are they?
They aren’t going to get their points back.
The pundit complained, “There are decisions made with VAR, Brighton last season were wrong on a number of occasions, but I don’t think I saw any statements from them.
“I just don’t understand where they’re going with this.
When will this be over, and do they want heads on a platter for this.”
Sutton challenges the claim made by Liverpool.
The response from the larger football community to Liverpool’s struggles this weekend was incredibly disappointing, and Sutton’s response sums it up.
The fact that those who are involved in the game fail to distinguish between, say, what happened to Brighton and what happened on Saturday, has really been quite astounding and eye-opening.
The Reds, like all teams, have experienced VAR errors that went in their favor.
One example of this is the failure to overturn Arsenal’s goal from Gabriel Martinelli at The Emirates last season.
But in that case, as in others, the technology didn’t operate as intended.
The camera had a blind spot, making it impossible for VAR to examine Martinelli’s goal.
In the FA Cup last year, Wolves visited Anfield, and exactly the same thing occurred.
Why should Liverpool request a replay when they didn’t demand one?
To begin with, no one from Liverpool has even suggested a replay or that Spurs forfeit the points.
Second, this was a completely original incident that had never happened before.
According to PGMOL, the goal’s disallowance was due solely to a misunderstanding between the VAR officials and the referee.
Clearly, the error was discovered shortly after the goal was disallowed, but nothing was done to fix it.
Since Liverpool’s statement didn’t go far enough in our opinion, we say as much. Sutton be damned, they ought to pursue this to the very end.
