“Alisson Reveals the Joke He Shared with Chiesa After Anfield Goal”

Liverpool supporters will be left waiting this weekend, as their team won’t feature in the ongoing Premier League action.

The Reds opened the new campaign last Friday with a thrilling clash against Bournemouth, but their next match isn’t until the bank holiday Monday.

In the meantime, the spotlight has shifted to the transfer market — and to Federico Chiesa.

After netting a dramatic winner at Anfield last week, Chiesa’s Liverpool journey finally feels like it’s about to take off.

Though it took nearly a full season for the Italian to find the net in the Premier League, the wait proved to be worthwhile.

Following a summer filled with rumors, it now appears that Chiesa will remain at Anfield this season. And in a recent interview, Alisson Becker made it clear just how thrilled he is for the forward.

Alisson Becker thrilled with Federico Chiesa’s breakthrough

Chiesa’s goal against Bournemouth was a hit with the fans, the team, and the player himself. The long-awaited strike clearly meant a lot to everyone involved.

For Alisson, it might have been some consolation after conceding twice and allowing Bournemouth back into the match.

However, in a conversation with Men In Blazers, the Brazilian keeper explained that he didn’t mind letting in those goals, as they set the stage for Chiesa’s big moment in front of the Kop.

“It means a lot for us when a player like him, who is not playing so often, who didn’t play as much as he wanted to play, is not in the best moment of his life, personally. When he comes in and scores that goal, the satisfaction that he shows us in his celebration shows a lot of his character, of his personality,” Alisson remarked.

“He’s a guy who works so hard here every day with us, he’s always trying to help. He complains sometimes, every Italian does that! But he’s not a guy who complains in a negative way, he complains to make things better for everyone, not only for himself.”

“I think it [the goal] shows that nothing is impossible if we can believe to the last second,” the Brazil international added. “We have the players who can change the game if necessary.

“I’m never happy that I concede but I told him seeing that you are the guy who scored the goal, I have no problem conceding the goals!”

Alisson on assisting Salah

While Alisson was clearly overjoyed by Chiesa’s goal, he also spoke about his strong on-pitch connection with Mohamed Salah.

The Liverpool goalkeeper has assisted the Egyptian forward on three occasions during their time at the club, and when asked about that dynamic, Alisson said it’s something they both enjoy.

“With Mo the connection we have is from the years we spent together,” says the 32-year-old.

“I know his qualities, he knows my quality when we have the space to do that, and when he is running towards the goal I have to do my best to kick the ball and put him in a good position so he can control the ball and do what he does best which is scoring goals.

“But it’s something we really enjoy doing. When that happens I think you can see from the celebrations it’s something that we enjoy a lot
