Although Barcelona hasn’t made a decision over Andreas Christensen’s future, it’s rumoured that Liverpool is prepared to pay €50 million to get him.
Liverpool is reportedly interested in Andreas Christensen ahead of the summer and is prepared to pay about €50 million for the Danish defender, according to Fichajes. Although the 27-year-old utility player has performed well for Barcelona, the Blaugrana has not yet decided whether to commit to the team long-term.
Liverpool is prepared to purchase Andreas Christensen for €50 million.
With the departure of Jurgen Klopp, Liverpool will attempt to maintain the high calibre of work produced by their German manager. Even without deciding who would succeed Klopp in the summer, the Reds still have plans to bolster their roster.
The Merseysiders would undoubtedly consider altering their backline, however only a few additions are being evaluated at this moment. This involves adding a fresh center-back who can fill in as a substitute if necessary.
Although Barcelona hasn’t made a decision regarding their starting defender, Andreas Christensen has become a target. The utility player, 27, has proven to be an excellent addition. But coming on a Bosman move would ideally make him vulnerable to a large sale that might bring in a tonne of money for the Catalans during such a trying financial time.
Liverpool is prepared to up their bid and make the Danish centre back an offer of about €50 million. According to a prior report, Barcelona would sell for €60 million, but in reality, the Catalans haven’t decided what to do with the 27-year-old utility player.
Will Andreas Christensen remain in Barcelona?
Given Barcelona’s present financial situation, one could think that Christensen’s sale would be ideal for the team. On the other hand, the Blaugrana might believe that their defender should remain with the team given the lack of money spent on his arrival and his subsequent strong performances.
Manchester United and Liverpool are also interested, but Barcelona would probably wait to take a call on the Dane until after considering the offers that come in. If Christensen chooses to stay, things might become more tricky, but the Catalans aren’t entirely against it right now.

Unveiled: New Premier League regulations will give Liverpool an incredible £415 million transfer boost.
If new financial rules are put in place, Liverpool would have no restrictions on how much money they might spend in 2024–2025 (Football Insider can reveal).
On Thursday night, all 20 Premier League clubs convened to deliberate over the replacement of the existing Profit and Sustainability regulations.
The new rules that have been proposed would be in line with the philosophy of Uefa, which limits expenditure to a portion of the club’s total revenue.
The cap, which will apply to wages, agent fees, and transfer fees, is anticipated to be regulated at 85 percent of income for teams competing outside of Europe and 70 percent for clubs playing in Europe.
According to the 2024 Deloitte Football Money League, Liverpool’s income for the previous year was £593 million, placing them eighth globally in terms of financial performance.
Based on their present revenue levels, Liverpool would have an incredible £415 million to spend if the Premier League votes to implement new laws.
Their £261 million pay cost would eat up most of that money, but the Merseyside club would still have a sizeable transfer budget left over for new players.
Following Jurgen Klopp’s statement that he will be leaving Anfield at the end of the 2023–24 season, the Reds are actively searching for a new manager.
Therefore, if new Premier League rules are implemented, the manager selected to succeed Klopp may receive a sizable transfer budget for the 2024–2025 campaign
