A ‘brilliant’ young talent from Liverpool has received a promotion to Arne Slot’s first team squad during the international break.
Arne Slot’s tenure at Anfield has started exceptionally well, with Liverpool enjoying a flawless Premier League campaign and delivering captivating football.
Slot has managed to maximize the performance of his players, many of whom are currently excelling.
However, there has been limited focus on Liverpool’s younger players under Slot, as he has favored established first-team members due to the team’s single weekly fixture.
This situation might be changing soon.
Liverpool youngster Tom Hill elevated to first team
One Liverpool youth player making significant strides this season is Tom Hill, the club’s U21 captain.
The 21-year-old has contributed an assist and scored a goal in Liverpool’s first two Premier League 2 matches.
Primarily a central midfielder, Hill made his debut for Liverpool’s first team in a League Cup match against Aston Villa, which ended in a 5-0 defeat. At that time, the Reds had to field their U21 squad as Jurgen Klopp’s first team was away at the Club World Cup.
This appearance marked Hill as one of Liverpool’s youngest-ever players.
Practise clearly paid off for Hill after THAT goal in Saturday's clash 😍👌

Since then, Hill has recovered from a serious ACL injury and even appeared on the bench in a Europa League match against Union SG last season.
Although he wasn’t part of the first-team squad during pre-season, Slot has now elevated Hill’s position by including him in Liverpool’s Champions League squad.
Hill will undoubtedly be pleased with this advancement.
Who is Liverpool’s Tom Hill?
Hill has been with Liverpool since U6 level, progressing through the youth system and captaining both the U18 and U21 teams.
He is eligible to represent the Republic of Ireland, England, and Wales but has only played for Wales’ youth national team so far, making his debut against Czechia’s U21 team last year.
Liverpool’s U21 manager, Barry Lewtas, has praised Hill’s ‘brilliant’ mentality, especially for overcoming his injury issues to return to form.
“He is a great kid, works ever so hard, and he’s dealt with the real lows and blows that have come his way brilliantly,” Lewtas told Liverpool’s official site.
“We need to ease him back in and get him going, but he can be a really important player for us this season. I’m sure he wants to kickstart his career now, and it was a lovely finish, which is what he is known for.
“He could have had a second as well and he makes some great runs into the box, so it’s nice to see he’s not lost that identity.”
