Barcelona could offer Liverpool a swap deal for Luis Diaz, as Deco is forced to trade important player.

Barcelona and Liverpool could do transfer business ahead of the 2024/25 season. Barcelona might entice Liverpool to part ways with star winger Luis Diaz by offering to send Raphinha in the opposite direction.

The Catalan giants are looking for a left winger this summer and have identified Diaz as the best possibility. Barcelona had a disappointing season last time out, failing to win any trophies.

The squad finished second to Real Madrid in La Liga and were eliminated from the Champions League by Paris Saint-Germain in the quarterfinals.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barcelona manager Deco feels Diaz has the attitude, technical ability, and power to create havoc on the left side, and he also praises the Colombian’s work rate and determination to track back.

Diaz is not fully comfortable at Anfield, with Jurgen Klopp’s exit weighing heavily on him, but he still has three years left on his current contract.

And the only way Barcelona might get their hands on the gifted ace is to sacrifice Raphinha. Raphinha is highly respected by Deco, having scored 10 goals and provided 13 assists in 37 games last season.

However, he is a natural right winger who has been forced to play on the opposite flank at times throughout his career in Spain.

The 27-year-old Brazil international, who left Leeds for the Nou Camp two years ago, has already received offers from Saudi Arabia but has declined them. And now he’s desired by Premier League teams. However, Barcelona will only let the player depart if they can recruit a left winger in his stead.

Raphinha spent two seasons in the Premier League with Leeds, when he scored 17 goals and assisted 12 times in 65 games. However, he was unable to keep the Yorkshire club from sliding into the Championship after their relegation in 2023.

If Diaz leaves Merseyside, new Liverpool manager Arne Slot will undoubtedly use the opportunity to sign Raphinha. And the Dutchman may even be preparing for life without the Colombia international, since the player’s father earlier stated that it was his son’s desire to play for Barcelona.
