Mason Mount has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United for some time, but now that they have pulled out, Bayern Munich are in focus.

Bayern Munich could revive Chelsea’s hopes of selling Mason Mount this summer after Manchester United reportedly halted talks.

The 24-year-old midfielder faces an increasingly uncertain future at Stamford Bridge as his contract expires at the end of next season.

Unless the Blues manage to sack Mount this summer or in January, he is free to leave the club in 12 months.

While Chelsea would rather demand a transfer fee for signing the England international than let him go on a free transfer, the club appear to be making a tough bargain.

The west Londoners turned down a third offer from United worth £50million a few days ago, including £5million in surcharges. Chelsea made a counter-offer of £58m at the approach, on top of a further £7m as a bonus, but which Erik ten Hag’s side were quick to reject.

According to The Times, the Red Devils were unhappy with Chelsea’s offer and insisted they were unfairly left behind. As a result, they have reportedly ended their pursuit of Mount and Jason Cundy is less than impressed with his former club.

Bayern Munich offers Todd Boehly and Mason Mount a significant lifeline, as Chelsea's transfer strategy is criticized.
“I feel for Mason because he’s in a real situation where he clearly wants to join United. Obviously he doesn’t see his future with Chelsea, Chelsea don’t see his future with them,” said the former defender. of the Blues to talkSPORT. as quoted by the MEN.

“So now let’s get to the Man United situation, he sat down, agreed to the terms, as far as we know that part is done.” It is now up to the two clubs to sort out the problem.

“He has one year left at Chelsea and does not want to sign. This deal looks set to be completed within the next 10 days. What Man United have offered does not match Chelsea’s assessment of him, although one year left on his contract.

“He has one year left at Chelsea and does not want to sign. This deal looks set to close within the next 10 days. Man United’s offer falls short of Chelsea’s esteem for him, despite having one year left on his contract.

While United may now be out of the running, Bayern Munich could offer Chelsea a lifeline.

According to The Guardian, the Bundesliga champions are increasing their interest in Mount after the Red Devils pulled out of talks.

The report says the Blues might be willing to accept a lower transfer fee from Bayern, but it remains to be seen if the midfielder is ready to leave the Premier League.

Chelsea are looking for a new midfielder this summer but will need to act fast with one goal left in Mauricio Pochettino’s shortlist

Mauricio Pocehttino has been encouraged to step up his search for a new midfielder this summer, with Newcastle expected to snatch Sandro Tonali from under Chelsea’s noses.

The 23-year-old has been briefly linked with a Premier League move for some time now, and the Magpies appear poised to finalize a deal.

According to The Athletic, Newcastle are close to a deal with Milan to sign Tonali for around €70m. The report said Eddie Howe’s side launched their first chase of the Italy national team earlier this week as the Blues watched from the sidelines.

Chelsea are rumored to be interested in Tonali and, despite being on the lookout for a new midfielder, have been unable to match Newcastle for signing him.

As a result, there is now one less player, who was in Pochettino’s squad, who can replace N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic.

The Magpies’ high-speed pursuit of the Italian certainly rocked West Londoners. Blink and you might miss your main focus. If Newcastle’s pursuit of Tonali has taught Chelsea anything, it’s closing a couple of deals for Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia before it’s too late…

In March, the Brighton star signed a new long-term deal that will keep him at Brighton until 2027.

Initially, it looked like Caicedo’s extension would preclude the prospect of a future move, but that doesn’t appear to be the case for the Blues which are expected to make a move in the coming weeks.

However, Chelsea are aware that the Ecuadorian international could cost around £100m. As for Lavia, football.london understands that the Blues are big fans of the Southampton star and have done extensive research on him.

The 19-year-old was strongly linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in late summer – just weeks after leaving Manchester City to join the Saints – but Chelsea ultimately failed in their mission. In recent weeks it seems that Arsenal are also eyeing Lavia.

While the Blues may have unknowingly challenged a rival to a transfer race, Todd Boehly has now raked in significant sums from several sales to secure the signing of the teenage sensation.
