Liverpool transfer news: Jürgen Klopp prioritizes a $43 million star and Manu Koné as his "number one" playerLiverpool transfer news: Jürgen Klopp may also see a $43 million steal for Federico Chiesa, and the Reds are reportedly in pole position to sign Manu Koné.

With Jörg Schmadtke as the club’s new sports director, Liverpool should expect to be linked with a wide range of players as the transfer market ramps up.

There is a fair probability that Schmadtke will be linked to moves for a number of Bundesliga players, with Manu Koné receiving yet another mention in today’s transfer round-up. Schmadtke has a lot of work to do.

However, Liverpool will not simply make investments in the midfield.

Jürgen Klopp must also find ways to strengthen his defense, and in response to a question before the season’s final game, he did not rule out making a signing in an attacking position.

Midfield may be the first priority, but if the right players in other positions are available for the right price, there are still lots of other things that may happen in the summer transfer market.

Here is Liverpool.com’s assessment of the transfer rumors that have been swirling about the Reds lately, in which two talents who might suit that description have been connected to transfers to Anfield.

Manu Koné might join Liverpool this summer, according to Tobi Altschäffl, a BILD writer in Germany, who spoke with Empire of the Kop regarding Borussia Mönchengladbach’s willingness to trade the player.

There have been speculations that Chelsea and PSG want Koné, but Altschäffl believes that Liverpool is currently the top destination for him.

“A new era is beginning in Liverpool’s midfield, and he might be a key component of it. Maybe the final sum is $32 (£26/€30) million plus a $5.4 (£4.3/€5 million) bonus. If Liverpool pushes, this might move quickly.

According to Liverpool.com, Koné certainly seems to be a possibility that the Reds are examining, but it is still unclear whether Liverpool will ultimately choose him. Finding the correct combination will depend on a number of other talented individuals, including Khéphren Thuram.

    (Juventus)Federico Chiesa

According to La Gazzetta Dello Sport (print edition, via Paisley Gates), Liverpool and Bayern Munich are ‘above all’ interested in signing Juventus forward Federico Chiesa this summer.

As the Italian team attempts to raise money, the source states that Chiesa may be made available for as little as $43 million (£34 million/€40 million). However, the 25-year-old has missed a lot of sport due to injury – 62 games over the last two seasons, according to Transfermarkt.

If there is trust that his problems are behind him, Chiesa would be a great addition to Liverpool’s forward line and at that price would be a bargain that would be worth the risk, according to Liverpool.com.

However, the immediate priority is not the offensive locations. Liverpool requires at least a few midfielders and one or two defenders. However, considering Chiesa’s caliber, there is a case for adding him as well for as low as $43m.

A key component of Liverpool's rebuild will be the Jürgen Klopp midfielder, who already matches Casemiro and Rodri.
Jürgen Klopp has already identified a player who is outperforming Casemiro in one area and matching Rodri in another as he attempts to overhaul the Liverpool midfield.

Curtis Jones began his longest stretch of Liverpool starts during the stretch. Jones started 11 straight games, from the 0-0 draw at Chelsea on April 4 to the 4-4 tie away to Southampton on Sunday.

The midfielder, who had previously struggled with consistency, has earned boss Jürgen Klopp’s continued trust during that time by putting on arguably the finest performance of his Anfield career. However, as Liverpool revamps its midfield department this summer, Jones now faces a tough battle to keep his spot.

However, the Toxteth-born midfielder has stood by himself, telling The Athletic that the idea of several high-caliber rivals coming ‘doesn’t bother him’.

He snarled, “I don’t care,” with a furious expression. I am self-assured, young man, and I am aware of the staff’s support.

You can understand why by looking at the stats Jones racked up during his run of games. ‘True tackles’ takes into consideration tackles made and lost as well as fouls committed, effectively measuring how frequently a player steps in.

Jones was included in Tifo Football’s most underestimated XI for the 2022–2023 Premier League season in a recent video, with his actual tackle total serving as explanation.

He placed fourth in the division (per 1,000 opponent touches) according to their table with 9.7 per 90, just after Casemiro (11) and Fred (10), both of Manchester United, and Joo Palhinha (11) of Fulham.

He places above Chelsea’s Enzo Fernández, the most expensive player in Premier League history, and Brighton’s Moisés Caicedo, a defensive midfielder coveted by Liverpool and likely to pay well in excess of $87 million (£70 million/€81 million) this summer (via Sky Sports).

A key component of Liverpool's rebuild will be the Jürgen Klopp midfielder, who already matches Casemiro and Rodri.
He actually comes in sixth among Premier League midfielders (minimum 1,000 minutes played) with a very amazing 58.1 percent, surpassing both Palhinha and Casemiro in the process.

Not only is he aggressive and diligent, but he also excels at winning the ball. Jones is a compelling package for manager Klopp because of this. He has, after all, excelled in a number of other significant areas as well.

In terms of ball retention, Jones excels. He completed 91.2 percent of his passes last season, narrowly beating out Yves Bissouma of Spurs and Rodri of Man City (91.3 percent).

He also has 2.7 progressive carries per 90 minutes, which places him just outside the top 10 and emphasizes the impact he can have while carrying the ball.

And finally, he plays a significant role in Liverpool’s attacks that result in opportunities, as evidenced by his average of 2.7 live-ball passes that result in a shooting.

Jones has shown signs in the past few months of developing into a capable all-around midfielder, so even if he isn’t the Reds’ first choice for the upcoming season, he should still see plenty of action.

As long as Jones stays injury-free, Klopp finally appears to have a finished product in hand.

Steven Gerrard linked with new Championship club – ‘Interested’ in position
Steven Gerrard’s name has once again been thrown into the ring over a vacant manager position, this time for a recently relegated side in need of stability.

The former Liverpool captain has been without a management job since he left Aston Villa last October, but he has no shortage of connections to career opportunities.

While we have seen Gerrard return to a role in the media since he was relieved of his duties at Villa Park, he has still been linked with jobs in Turkey and international roles.

Now the Telegraph has named him one of three managers being considered by Leeds after Sam Allardyce exited after four games in charge and a failed safety bid.

Gerrard, Scott Parker and Marcelo Bielsa’s former assistant Carlos Corberan were all named candidates, with Leeds keen to “appoint a new manager in the coming weeks”.

Steven Gerrard linked with new Championship club – ‘Interested’ in position
There is a need for stability at Elland Road following relegation after three seasons in the top flight as they currently have no manager or director of football. The uncertainty of a potential change in ownership will be a slump for any executive considering the role, as a decision on an immediate acquisition has yet to be made by 49ers Enterprises’ minority shareholders.

The Telegraph says that despite the apparent uncertainty at Elland Road, Gerrard is “obviously interested in the job” and his name has not yet been checked by the chief executive.

Many are of the opinion that Gerrard will have to be relegated back to the leagues when he returns to management, but there will be no shortage of expectations on his shoulders at Leeds.

They face a summer of change after relegation but are expected to fight their way to the Premier League without delay – a tall order for Gerrard’s third managerial job.

After a Liverpool target exchange, Lionel Messi left Alexis Mac Allister “shaking.”

After a Liverpool target exchange, Lionel Messi left Alexis Mac Allister "shaking."
Alexis Mac Allister and Lionel Messi made their name in Argentina history at last winter’s World Cup

What a year it was for Alexis Mac Allister.
Just twelve months ago, the 24-year-old was a relatively unknown man. It’s fair to say he helped Brighton finish ninth in the Premier League – their best finish ever – but few expected the Santa Rosa native to become a global superstar.

A look at the present: only a few football fans don’t know the Argentinian maestro. Mac Allister has developed into one of the most notable midfielders in the top flight and has helped the Seagulls improve from last season. They eventually finished sixth, securing European football for the first time in club history.

A self-confessed introvert, Mac Allister’s form has dropped him straight onto Liverpool’s radar, with Jurgen Klopp set to finalize a £70m deal for the midfielder in the coming weeks.

But it was his exploits for Argentina that catapulted Mac Allister from fugitive to superstar.

Picked up after an opening day humiliation against Saudi Arabia, the midfield star started the remaining six games as Albiceleste lifted the World Cup for the first time in 36 years.

After a Liverpool target exchange, Lionel Messi left Alexis Mac Allister "shaking."
Argentina hadn’t kept football’s biggest prize in the air since Diego Maradona and Mac Allister was at the heart of it all.

The pre-tournament conversation centered around Lionel Messi and the trophy that eluded him during his 20-year career. After suffering a loss in the 2014 final, the superstar striker rolled back the years and emerged as a man on a mission to put his name in history.

But where Sergio Aguero and Javier Mascherano failed nine years ago, it was Mac Allister and company who helped him cross the finish line.

A goal and an assist at the World Cup may seem small, but the Brighton man proved an unsung hero, throwing himself into the ground to make up for Messi’s dwindling offside value ethic.

Achievement of fame placed Mac Allister on the world stage – and raised his price by a few pounds. Had Liverpool been careful with their transfer policy, they might have signed their man for a clip last summer as their rivals’ eyes were on Seagulls teammates Marc Cucurella or Yves Bissouma. The victory also made Messi, now immortalized in the pantheon of football gods, his brother in arms. But that wasn’t always the case.

For Argentines, the 35-year-old is an acclaimed figure. While Mac Allister is a pro in his own right, that didn’t make him any different.

Ahead of the World Cup, the £70m midfielder has spoken about the first time he met Messi after a November 2019 call-up for Argentina. Mac Allister, still only 20, admitted he “fumbled” before meeting the national icon.

“I was so nervous, my hands were shaking,” she told CNN. “I’m a very shy guy, so yeah, I was very nervous. But then you realize how modest he is. At that time I was playing for Boca Juniors, so we had come from Argentina to [play] I think it was Spain for a friendly.

“And we arrived and he was eating. I went to the table and waved with shaking hands. I was sweating. But it was a great moment. He is my idol. He’s the best footballer in the world.”

Mac Allister – of Gaelic descent – also shared how Messi defended him when his international teammates gave him a derogatory nickname. The midfielder added: “I don’t like it and he told his teammates. He (Messi) said, ‘He doesn’t like being called Colo, so don’t call him that!’”

Liverpool's new sporting director given clear chance in pursuit of transfer target
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been linked with a number of players looking to overhaul his squad this summer, including Borussia Monchengladbach star Manu Kone.

Liverpool’s decision to appoint a new sporting director could pay off immediately by signing Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Kone.

Jörg Schmadtke took up his new role at Anfield this week, replacing Julian Ward after a short 12-month tenure. But the German won’t have much time to go under the table as the club have a big summer ahead of them after a disappointing season.

The 59-year-old is accused of helping Jurgen Klopp build up his reinforcements. Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, James Milner and Roberto Firmino are all heading for the exit. A deal for Brighton midfielder Mac Allister is approaching, but it promises to be just the start of the summer’s buying spree

Liverpool's new sporting director given clear chance in pursuit of transfer target
And many German and French media now associate the Reds with Koné. The player arrived from Toulouse two years ago and has impressed with 30 appearances this season as his side finished 10th in the Bundesliga.

And Liverpool’s ties to the club they once famously beat in a European Cup final have now inadvertently strengthened. German publication Kicker says Nils Schmadtke, son of Jorg, will take over as sporting director of Mönchengladbach.

The 34-year-old previously worked at the club as a scout and also held roles at FC Köln and VfL Wolfsburg. In the latter he worked with his father, and now any negotiations are likely to be aided by family ties. Kone has played for France at Under-18, 19 and 21 levels, although he has not yet been called up to the full national team. Signing him would be seen as a move to left field from Klopp, but also one that is unlikely to break the bank as FSG are unable to match the financial might of rivals Manchester City.

The club is also closely associated with Declan Rice, but the £100m asking price is a potential stumbling block.

Mason Mount is another potential target, although Klopp faces stiff competition from Manchester United, who have reportedly agreed personal terms.

Liverpool may have perfect Europa League XI next season after five summer transfers

Report: Liverpool reach 'full deal' for Mac Allister
Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool will play in the Europa League for the first time since the 2015/16 season.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is actually tasked with building two starting XIs ahead of next season. While the pairing of Alexis Mac Allister and Khephren Thuram can reasonably be expected to slot into the first team, three more arrivals could boost a second tier XI for the Europa League. As the Reds prepare to end their long absence from European second-tier club competition, Express Sport shows you where to line up

With Caoimhin Kelleher set to step out of Alisson’s shadow and leave Liverpool this summer, the Reds would do well to bring in a new number 2. New sporting director Jorg Schmadtke would be a fan of Ron-Robert Zieler, and he could become one. of his first acquisitions in the work. Zieler was once a full German international and made over 300 appearances for Hannover in two seasons. With a year remaining on his contract, signing the 34-year-old would certainly be a cheap way to start a row with Adrian over who starts in Europe.

Defense: Ramsay, Gomez, Van de Ven, Tsimikas

Liverpool may have perfect Europa League XI next season after five summer transfersIt is now an open secret that Micky van de Ven is ‘dreaming’ of a move to Liverpool and the 22-year-old Wolfsburg star could link up with Joe Gomez in the Europa League alongside Ibrahima Konate and of Virgil van Dijk, the centre-back duo. will likely remain in the starting XI.

Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andrew Robertson will also be difficult to oust as full-backs, but next season’s European clashes will present opportunities for youngster Calvin Ramsey and long-serving substitute Kostas Tsimikas to shine.

    Midfielder: Henderson, Kone, Jones

Liverpool may have perfect Europa League XI next season after five summer transfers
With Mac Allister and Thuram considering a move to Anfield, Klopp could be spoiled for choice in midfield. They will likely be joined by Fabinho in the starting trio, which will see Jordan Henderson and Curtis Jones join potential new signing Manu Kone on Thursday night.

The Borussia Mönchengladbach youngster won’t come cheap at £40m, but his arrival would add some depth to the Reds squad, as Thiago Alcantara can also come when fit, while Stefan Bajcetic will also play as he matures .

    Attack: Elliott, Nunez, Jota

After successive windows of steady recruiting at the top, Klopp already has enough options to field two completely separate front threes. Mohamed Salah is the only candidate nailed for the first XI, but Cody Gakpo in the center and Luis Diaz in the left are the most likely candidates to join him.

In the Europa League, Harvey Elliott and Diogo Jota remain alongside Darwin Nunez.

LIVERPOOL GET READY TO PERSUADE THE ALABA EQUIVALENT OF BUNDESLIGA

LIVERPOOL GET READY TO USE THE ALABA EQUIVALENT OF BUNDESLIGA
From the heart of the Bundesliga to the legendary pitch of Anfield: Wolfsburg centre-back Micky van de Ven is reportedly in the sights of Liverpool FC.

As Jurgen Klopp tries to strengthen his defense and recover from a disappointing season, a new Dutch candidate offers relief.

A LOOK AT LIVERPOOL’S NEW TRANSFER DESTINATION

Van de Ven, the 22-year-old Dutch wonderkid, has always impressed in the Bundesliga, putting him on the radar of new Liverpool sporting director Jörg Schmadtke.

The Reds are reportedly showing serious interest in the defender as a cheaper alternative to RB Leipzig’s €110m talent Josko Gvardiol.

Football-Oranje.com sources suggest the Dutch talent could possibly move to Merseyside for a plausible sum of €40m (£34m).

This number seems more acceptable for Liverpool given that Liverpool are focusing on the midfielder in the next transfer window following the departures of James Milner, Naby Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

WHY VAN DE VEN MAKES COMPLETE SENSE FOR RED

LIVERPOOL GET READY TO USE THE ALABA EQUIVALENT OF BUNDESLIGA
In the just-completed Premier League season, Liverpool conceded 47 goals, a weakness which prevented the team from winning a major title and finishing in the top four.

This lack of performance made it clear that the team needed both defensive reinforcements and midfield stability.

Van de Ven’s performance metrics show that a player is ready for this challenge.

With 33 Bundesliga appearances and 11 goals conceded this season, the Dutch defender’s 88% completion rate, average of 1.4 tackles and 3.1 clearances per game is a compelling argument. The Dutchman’s ability to win 64% of ground duels and his 70% dribbling rate further underline his versatility and strength.

ALABA COMPARISONS: MORE THAN JUST HYPE?
LIVERPOOL GET READY TO USE THE ALABA EQUIVALENT OF BUNDESLIGAWhile he shines in his central defensive role, Van de Ven is equally adept at left-back. Journalist Ronan Murphy praised the Dutchman as “thriving”, even drawing comparisons to Real Madrid’s David Alaba.

The Austrian legend, called an “incredible talent” by Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, offers remarkably similar skills to Van de Ven, according to FBref. This data-driven parallel reinforces the case for the Dutch prodigy’s potential at Liverpool.

German football legend Lothar Matthaus once said of Alaba: “Not only does he perform defensively at 100 percent of his abilities, but he seals spaces, pings passes and runs with the ball at high speed.”

If Van de Ven continues to similarly improve his game, he could very well emerge as one of the most dynamic defenders in the Premier League, a prospect that should excite Anfield loyalists.

With his sights set on a strategic rebuild, Liverpool sporting director Schmadtke is to make the switch to the Dutch centre-back. This could be the crucial piece to the puzzle as Liverpool attempt to re-establish their foothold in England’s elite.

Report: Liverpool reach 'full deal' for Mac Allister
Football Insider say the Reds have activated the Argentinian’s release clause and agreed personal terms as they prepare to make the midfielder their first signing of the summer.

Following reports earlier this week that the father of Brighton midfielder Alexis Mac Allister has traveled to Merseyside to finalize the deal for his son’s move to Liverpool, Football Insider reported today that the move is almost business suit.

FI quoted unnamed sources as saying that Liverpool today activated Mac Allister’s release clause with an offer of between £55-60m and have now also concluded negotiations with the Argentinian on personal terms. If the report is true, Liverpool are willing to triple their wages in an offer of £150,000 a week.

Coverage of this possible signature still comes largely from less credible sources, but it really does feel like this is one of those “where there’s smoke, there’s fire” situations.

Mac Allister’s Instagram post today appears to be a farewell without saying goodbye to Brighton and Seagulls manager Roberto de Zerbi has admitted he expects the midfielder to leave this summer .

Add to that the fact that current rumors suggest Liverpool are almost done with things and there aren’t any other potential landing spots that get much attention, it looks like Mac’s transfer Going to Liverpool is more a question of when than of ob.

The heartbreak at Liverpool transfer will soon be confirmed following the Sky Sports Journal update

Report: Liverpool reach 'full deal' for Mac Allister
Liverpool fans are set for a busy summer of transfer activity, both inbound and outbound, but it looks like news many feared is about to be sanctioned.

As Florian Plettenberg reports: “News #Bellingham: Dortmund want to finalize Real Madrid deal very soon, as always reported by @SPORT1.” Understand: a total package of 150 million euros is unlikely.

“Real compares him internally to Tchouameni (€80m). We expect a possible envelope of 120 to 130 million euros including bonuses. #BVB has not yet received an official offer.

The Sky Sports Germany reporter’s update will perhaps be the most interesting as the whole deal including bonuses is priced at ‘€120-130m’ or around £110m .

This price seemed to have been both sufficient to secure the services of Jude Bellingham and the amount we had set was too high for us to compete with other clubs or completely refresh the squad with what was left of transfer chat .

With Jurgen Klopp set to sign four midfielders for around £60million, each time will tell if the right decision has been made for us to rule out a move.

It’s safe to assume we’ll spend at least £110m this summer, but it’s a good balance of quality and quantity when it looks like we’ll need multiple players in the same window.

But for now, a player who seemed viable and one who could be a fixture of our club for years seems completely out of our league.

Liverpool target Alexis Mac Allister has been asked about Jurgen Klopp’s interest as summer move to Anfield draws closer

Alexis Mac Allister has said he is “very calm” about the prospect of a move to Liverpool as his transfer from Brighton draws closer.

Mac Allister has emerged as a key target for Jurgen Klopp as he seeks to reshape his midfield this summer after the Reds failed to qualify for the Champions League for the first time in seven years.

While Liverpool have shown no signs of an agreement with the club, Argentinian sources said last week that the 24-year-old was set to make the move for a transfer fee of around £60million.

Mac Allister cried after Brighton’s final Premier League game at Aston Villa last Sunday as he helped the Seagulls qualify for Europe for the first time in their history.

And the Argentine world champion has now been asked directly about Liverpool’s strong interest and the possibility of a collaboration with Klopp.

Alexis Mac Allister speaks out about leaving Liverpool for the "next club"
“I’m very calm because I also have the opportunity to be at a club like Brighton, which has always been with me and where I really like being,” he told Argentinian-based media Infobae. at Miami. If I don’t leave the club I will be very happy there, but I am aware that there are opportunities (to move) and if there is a good offer for the club and for me, we will evaluate it.

“I have no doubt that (the Premier League) is the best league to play in and therefore I am aware that my next club would like to play in the Premier League. I really enjoy being there.”

Mac Allister added: “The goal is to keep getting better as a person, as a player, to win more titles. I think that’s my short-term goal and it always will be because I’ll always be the same person and I’ll always be the same person.” .” I want to be a little better than the day before, so I focus a lot on that.

“I won’t complain, I’m 24, I’m a world champion, I play in one of the best leagues in the world and I feel like my career is growing, but I’m still down to earth.” the ground and I really want to improve, become a better person and a better player every day. We’ll see what the future holds.

Liverpool are targeting a number of midfielders as part of their summer engine room overhaul. They remain interested in Mason Mount even though Manchester United are ahead in the Chelsea midfield race. And reports from France this week indicated that the Reds are considering using Nice’s Khephren Thuram.
The domestic transfer window for Premier League clubs opens on June 14.

Liverpool are associated with quality players and once again the name Federico Chiesa is in the spotlight.

The Merseysiders were already linked with the Italy international in January and recent reports suggest they are still after him.

According to a story reported by La Gazzetta Dello Sport. Juventus could lose Chiesa and Vlahovic this summer, raking in over €100m from the double sale.

As for the 25-year-old playmaker, Italian media have reported that he has several admirers in Europe despite injury problems

GdS claim Liverpool and Bayern are ‘first and foremost’ and could agree a fee of €40-45m (£38.7m) to complete the signing. The former Fiorentina winger is a versatile talent who can play on both wings and even as a striker if necessary.

Chiesa was a key member of the Azzurri squad that won the 2021 European Championship and was also named in the Team of the Tournament.

Since then, however, he has been very prone to injury. Last season, the Italian made just 14 Serie A appearances. On the other hand, the 40-year-old star has only started 5 league appearances for Juve this season.

At Anfield Klopp already has Diaz, Gakpo and Nunez who can play on the left wing, but the German coach has no top player to cover for Mohamed Salah on the right wing.

Chiesa has the qualities to amplify the attack, but we certainly don’t need a player who has spent most of his time on the couch in the last two years. What do you think?

Liverpool have contacted Southampton to express their interest in signing Romeo Lavia, sources have told Football Insider.

The Merseysiders have turned their attention to signing the 19-year-old as they look to sign a quality defensive midfielder this summer.

Liverpool are looking to secure a key presenter in the signing of Alexis Mac Allister who, Football Insider revealed on Wednesday, has agreed a full deal to join Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Liverpool also want a stronger midfielder and Lavia is a firm target for them in the summer window.

Liverpool have a particularly urgent need for central midfielders following the departures of Naby Keita, James Milner and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, while Jordan Henderson, Fabinho and Thiago Alcantara are all aged between 29 and 32.

Despite relegation, Lavia made an impression during his season at Southampton, making 26 Premier League appearances in 35 appearances in all competitions.

He was also called up to represent the Belgium national team, making his first first-team cap in March.
In other news, Liverpool are in a four-way race to catch the relegated star.

Leighton Clarkson’s time at Aberdeen proved to be a sleeper success, with the Liverpool midfielder throwing a “curve ball” when it came to his future.

Clarkson last left behind a bad spell with Blackburn when he joined Aberdeen on a season-long deal in August.

The 21-year-old was a regular starter for the Dons, finishing the season with six goals and nine assists in 38 appearances.

It hasn’t all been easy, of course, with Aberdeen posting their worst result in history with a defeat to sixth division Darvel in January, followed by an unsurprising change of manager.

But a late surge to finish third in the Scottish Premiership and book a route to Europe has sparked speculation that Clarkson is joining the club on a permanent basis.

For more insight into Clarkson’s time in Aberdeen and his future, we spoke to Aberdeen Live trainee journalist Ruaraidh Britton (@RuaraidhB).

Despite the tough ride after the World Cup, Clarkson was able to bounce back strongly.

The arrival of Barry Robson saw him adapted to a midfield role and he excelled at creating chances and dictating attacking play.

The return to form has contributed greatly to his performance as he has been able to enjoy his football much more, but it has not been the easiest journey to Europe.

He, like many other members of the Dons team, has risen to the challenge and been rightly rewarded – and it could lead to a breakthrough as he looks to his next career move.

What were its strengths and weaknesses? And what is his best role?
His greatest strength is having the freedom to create chances from a deep position in the middle of the park.

https://footballtopstar.com/liverpool-midfielder-handed-curve-ball-to-transfer-with-massive-decision/It saw Clarkson provide some great assists for the forwards, but the quality that surprised everyone was on set pieces.

The free-kick against St Mirren that helped seal European football was a perfect example of this and on several occasions he managed to knock a howler out of the bag. However, doubts remain over his ability to dictate a game when the midfield looks overwhelmed, especially in the games against Celtic and Rangers.

It would be a big deal for Clarkson to work to add a Fabinho-like defensive element, stopping attacks early on, but at the end of a season-long rollercoaster ride in which he shone sitting at the bottom of Aberdeen’s midfield.

Watching Clarkson in the 40-plus games was a mixed bag considering his six goals and nine assists spread throughout the season.

There are games where you have to look closer to see what he can do.
But seeing him score a stunning free-kick or even his heel against Hibs in November made him a very special talent to watch from the press bench.

There is a very talented player there and we would love to see him back in the Premier League.

Ideally, if he were to return to Aberdeen, you’d feel like it would be another campaign from the flashy game we’ve seen all season.
But he’s a young lad who wants to play regular football, enjoy it, at a club with a sense of belonging and that’s what he got at Pittodrie.

Have you heard that the rumors linking him to Celtic and Rangers are true?

Speculation of a move to Celtic or Rangers seemed to die down pretty quickly and hasn’t really had much of an impact since.

A recent report suggesting interest from Reading seemed bizarre but expected as teams from England’s lower leagues were expected to be interested in bringing them back south of the border, but you can’t see him opting for a club on Reading’s terms.

Last we heard there is an agreement to return to Aberdeen, but now it’s up to Clarkson to make arguably the biggest decision of his career.

It could be leaving Liverpool, the club he loves, and returning to a team where he has become a highly regarded star talent, or continuing to graft onto Merseyside for a chance to break through in a midfield in need of a new lease of life.

Liverpool midfielder handed 'curve ball' to transfer - with 'massive decision'
Aberdeen really don’t want to lose Clarkson, and it clearly shows.

So he has to think long and hard in his weeks off whether to continue to build on his remarkable campaign or gamble on what Liverpool decide his future should be. Clarkson turns 22 in October and looks unlikely to stay at Liverpool – what can you expect from him next?

In recent comments, Clarkson said he never thought he would move to Scotland and play football for a Premiership club, adding he was surprised at the quality and urged any young player to follow his path .
He appears to be a happy player with his decision and is now seriously considering focusing on his development at a club like Aberdeen.

He has made his name and his talents visible to everyone this season and I can imagine him desperately trying to keep it that way.

The only thing that is difficult for him is getting out of a club like Liverpool, which has incredible appeal.

I cannot imagine an immediate decision because we are a few days from the end of the seasons in England and Scotland and he must find the maturity to make the big decision.

But considering how well he played for the Dons and how much he enjoyed his frequent appearances, there could well be a desire to be back at Pittodrie next season.

He is a valuable asset to the Aberdeen team and that can only be one more factor in encouraging him to steer his development in the right direction.
