Chelsea must make a £34 million decision as Mauricio Pochettino offers Moises Caicedo a transfer alternative.
Chelsea need midfield reinforcements, with Moises Caicedo and Romeo Lavia among the players Mauricio Pochettino is considering

Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic for just £34m this summer. The Blues are currently negotiating a deal with Brighton to sign Moises Caicedo, but Milinkovic-Savic could prove to be the perfect cheap alternative.

football.london understands that Arsenal tried to sign Caicedo in January and made two offers which were quickly rejected.

However, they have since cooled their interest in the 21-year-old. Despite being pressured to leave, Caicedo signed a contract extension a few months later that will keep him at the Amex Stadium until 2027.

football.london understands the Blues have a strong interest in the Ecuador international and they are aware he could cost around £80million.

Chelsea must make a £34 million decision as Mauricio Pochettino offers Moises Caicedo a transfer alternative.
Caicedo has reportedly already agreed personal terms with Chelsea and it is now up to the two clubs to agree a transfer fee – the Ecuador international has reportedly been promised he could leave Brighton this summer.

Considering Chelsea have already parted ways with N’Golo Kante, Mateo Kovacic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek, the Blues could be looking to sign more than one new central midfielder ahead of next season.

A report from CaughtOffside has now revealed that Milinkovic-Savic has been offered to the West Londoners as he enters the final 12 months of his contract with Lazio.

Former Blues player Mateja Kezman is the Serbian midfielder’s agent and that could help the Blues negotiate a deal that would see the 28-year-old join Stamford Bridge this summer.

The report adds that Chelsea like Milinkovic-Savic and are ready to consider him as a possible option to strengthen their midfield.

Caicedo and Southampton talent Romeo Lavia are seen as priorities for the Blues, but Milinkovic-Savic is an affordable alternative and could be the perfect partner for Enzo Fernandez in midfield.

The Serbian international has impressed during his time in Italy and is regarded as a strong box-to-box midfielder.

Milinkovic-Savic scored 11 goals and provided a further eight assists in 47 appearances for Lazio last season, showing he can contribute goals and assists from a deeper position, something Chelsea lacked last season.

Juventus and other Premier League clubs have been touted as potential destinations for the 28-year-old but it appears Kezman is keen to help his former club sort out their midfield woes and would be willing to negotiate a deal for Milinkovic-Savic at Stamford. Bridge.

Expert Don Hutchinson has claimed he believes Ruben Loftus-Cheek made the right decision to leave Chelsea.

Taking to Twitter, he welcomed the England international opting for a move abroad to maximize his potential.

It has been claimed that Loftus-Cheek has already undergone a medical examination ahead of a possible move to AC Milan in the coming days.

The move sees the Blues part ways with another academy graduate who has been associated with the club for more than half his life.

Although he also featured regularly as a central midfielder, he was used as a substitute for Reece James when the latter was injured.

Loftus-Cheek’s ability to carry on was seen as the best possible replacement for the 23-year-old, although captain Cesar Azpilicueta was also available.
Hutchinson was impressed with Loftus-Cheek

However, last season was expected to be the club’s last with them having to sell to raise money for this summer.
Hutchinson has now said he believes it will be a big move for the England national team.

He said, “Good for him. He could have stayed in his comfort zone and stayed in the prem. Very jealous of the boys who are now going to Serie A.

“Great move on his part. Now out of his comfort zone. Huge club, new language, new city, etc.”

The player is one of several players whose departure from Stamford Bridge has already been announced.
