Following a flurry of high-profile departures, new Blues manager Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping for more additions in the final weeks of the summer window.
Following a string of mistakes on and off the field, Chelsea finished a pitiful 12th in the Premier League, which was their lowest finish since the 1993–1994 season.
The squad still needs to be strengthened in a number of areas before the start of the new Premier League season, despite Pochettino’s recent additions of a few senior players.

Chelsea has hired a manager from Manchester City as their new first-team scout.
Stewart Thompson has joined the Blues’ setup as a new face for their scouting team.
Thompson transfers to Stamford Bridge from his position as Man City’s head of UK academy scouting.
He posted on social media, saying: “Sad to leave Man City, we signed some top young talents and I wish them all the best. But I’m really looking forward to my new position as first team scout at Chelsea FC. ”.
Thompson and Joe Shields, who works with Chelsea as a co-director of talent acquisition, will now collaborate once more in London.
Brighton anticipates Moises Caicedo to stay with the team this summer.
By the time the transfer window closes, the Seagulls anticipate Caicedo to still be a member of their team.
Chelsea has submitted three bids for the midfielder, and none of them have been accepted.
The price Brighton reportedly offered Ecuadorian was in the neighborhood of £100 million.
As Southampton receives their, Romeo Lavia, who has ties to Chelsea, is anticipated to play.
Tomorrow night’s Championship matchup against Sheffield Wednesday will begin.
Lavia and James Ward-Prowse have both been linked with departures from St Mary’s, with the former being pursued by West Ham while the Saints captain has been linked with the Blues and Liverpool.
Before tomorrow’s season-opening game, manager Russell Martin told the media today: “Both will be involved tomorrow night as it stands; I don’t know if anything will change between now and then.
“I don’t know if I think they’ll be Southampton players by the end of the window. I probably think very differently than what I hope.
But since I really have no control over that, it would be useless to publicly state whether I believe they will be present or not.
“If they both leave at some point, or if only one of them does, it will be because both the club and the player have achieved something that benefits everyone.
“I believe that is why it has dragged on so long thus far, and I believe that it may still drag on, but both of them while they have been here have been great, at very different stages of their careers. ”.
In case you missed it earlier today, Kylian Mbappe is open to moving to Chelsea, but only for one season.
According to the Spanish publication Sport, Mbappe is open to moving to Stamford Bridge this summer but only if he can agree to a one-year contract.
When next season’s regular season ends, the French superstar wants the freedom to consider his options.
According to the report, Chelsea is reportedly unhappy about this and would obviously prefer to sign him to a long-term contract.
The length of a potential deal thus appears to be a concern, despite the positive news regarding Mbappe’s interest.
Since last summer, Brighton’s players and staff have cost Chelsea more than £100 million.
According to talkSPORT, the Blues are planning to pay up to £25 million to acquire goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
Following Graham Potter’s appointment as manager in 2022 and the hiring of former Seagulls defender Marc Cucurella, this occurs.
By the time the window is over, this number might have doubled because Chelsea is still after Moises Caicedo.
Chelsea have paid Brighton £109m for players & staff since last summer:

Mauricio Pochettino, the manager of Chelsea, may have already chosen the players who will start for him in his first competitive match.
Chelsea hasn’t lost yet in five games and even claimed the first Premier League Summer Series title.
They drew 1-1 in Chicago on Wednesday night during their final exhibition game before the start of the new campaign against the German team Borussia Dortmund.
The night’s starting lineup was strong, and Pochettino suggested after the game that these stars might line up against Liverpool the following Sunday.
The start of the season is only 10 days away, so this was about giving the team I envision playing 90 minutes to my team.
Thiago Silva, Ben Chilwell, Reece James, and Levi Colwill, who recently agreed to a new six-year contract, were the other two defenders on the starting lineup alongside Kepa Arrizabalaga in goal.
Behind Christopher Nkunku, Carney Chukwuemeka, Raheem Sterling, and Nicolas Jackson in the midfield were Enzo Fernandez and Conor Gallagher.
Robert Sanchez, the goalkeeper for Brighton, has reportedly reached a deal with Chelsea worth up to £25 million, according to talkSPORT.
The international player from Spain has been granted permission to visit the club soon for a medical, and he will make a long-term move to Stamford Bridge.
Sanchez will challenge No. 1 goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga, who takes Edouard Mendy’s place after the latter joined Al Ahli of Saudi Arabia.
