Dominik Szoboszlai will soon undergo a medical after Liverpool "triggers his release clause.".
As Jurgen Klopp appears poised to sign a second midfielder before the 2023–23 season, Liverpool has exercised Dominik Szoboszlai’s €70 million release clause.

Liverpool has used the €70 million release clause on Dominik Szoboszlai.

Fabrizio Romano asserts that the RB Leipzig midfielder will sign with Liverpool after the Reds exercised his release clause just hours before the deadline passed.

The 22-year-old Szoboszlai, who can play on either wing or across the midfield, appears to be Liverpool’s second transfer window acquisition after Alexis Mac Allister, who joined from Brighton and Hove Albion earlier in the month.

Along with the agreement, Fabio Carvalho’s season-long loan move to RB Leipzig also happened at the same time. The 20-year-old scored three goals in a total of 21 games after moving to Anfield from Fulham last summer for $5 million.

RB Leipzig finished third in the Bundesliga and won the DFB-Pokal last season thanks to the Hungary international’s ten goals and 13 assists across all competitions.

The Reds were reportedly interested, and talks had already started earlier in the day. The deal was closed quickly and ruthlessly, though, and Liverpool now seems to have their man.

Newcastle United was reportedly interested but will miss out after signing Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.

Szoboszlai’s release clause was set to expire at 11 p.m. on Friday, giving the Reds no room for error in the deal.

With any deal completed before July counting towards last season’s calculations for FFP, Liverpool’s last-minute move for Szoboszlai has come at the ideal time to help them navigate Financial Fair Play restrictions.

After contributing 20 goals and 22 assists in 91 games for the Bundesliga team since joining in 2021 from RB Salzburg in Austria, the Hungarian will give Klopp’s team another attacking option.

The inventive midfielder will be a familiar face because he was an important member of the team that destroyed Gareth Southgate’s England team 4-0 at Wembley last summer. He also played against Manchester City in the Champions League last year.

Following his £35 million departure from Brighton, Mac Allister was Liverpool’s first acquisition of the summer. In a revamped midfield at Anfield, the World Cup winner and Szoboszlai are exciting additions.

After Alex Oxlade Chamberlain, Naby Keita, James Milner, and Arthur all left the club at the end of their contracts, Klopp’s engine room rebuild is taking shape.

Liverpool is 'interested' in signing a $52 million powerhouse for Anfield.
According to Sky Sports reporter Dharmseh Sheth, Liverpool are working behind the scenes on a £52m target

Liverpool are interested in signing France U21 and OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth told GIVEMESPORT.

The Reds are looking to refresh their engine room having been tired and lethargic last season and started their window by signing Alexis Mac Allister for £35m, but now they have their sights set on Ligue 1 jewel Thuram.

Liverpool transfer news – Khephren Thuram

Liverpool have long been admirers of the Frenchman. Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor told GIVEMESPORT that he was of “specific interest” to Jurgen Klopp and his backroom staff.

L’Equipe had also reported that talks between the relevant parties had been going on for weeks and that the player in question could cost around £52million.

According to “Football Insider”, the club is now close to the second midfield reinforcement in this window.

The report said the towering youngster is eager to make a move to the Reds and therefore the club is doing all it can to secure the signing of the much coveted phenom.

Just a week earlier, the same publication admitted Champions League returnees Newcastle United were also interested in the 22-year-old as they are looking for a midfielder at the box office this summer.

However, it appears the decorated Merseyside side are now leading the race.

Little has happened in terms of revenue since former Seagull Mac Allister moved north, but it now appears Klopp is taking a positive step forward in his pursuit of Thuram.

What did Dharmesh Sheth say about Khephren Thuram and Liverpool? Speaking exclusively to GIVEMESPORT, he said: “Khephren Thuram is another player they were interested in, including Vega.

” He’ll be one of those guys that Liverpool just do backstage and he’ll be one of those, where, you know, you make noises pretty late, and once those noises start, the deal gets will conclude fairly quickly. So I think they know who their targets are.

What would Khephren Thuram bring to the Liverpool midfield?

Many years in the tank would have been one of the main things that would have attracted potential buyers; especially for Liverpool, whose midfielder was anything but young from last season.

Thuram, son of French icon Lilian, is a relatively complete midfielder who excels in developing from deeper areas.

The 1.90m tall midfielder made 48 appearances for Nice in the 2022/23 season, scoring two goals and providing a further eight assists that season. But it’s his stats provided by FBRef that show why he’s so sought after.

In the last 365 days, the midfielder has achieved an impressive 1.63 kills per 90 and sits in the top 6% of those in a similar position for progressive transfers per 90, where he registers 3.25 .

Strengthening the center of the park has long been a priority for the German boss, and the need for fresh legs there has been reinforced by the many outings we’ll see in this window.

But now Liverpool are reportedly making an offer the La Liga side would be ‘very hard to refuse’.
