Due to Saudi interest, Fabinho has been REMOVED from Liverpool's 32-man roster for the preseason training camp in Germany.
But after receiving a £700,000 per week Al-Ettifaq offer, Jordan Henderson DOES travel.

In the midst of his five-year contract with Liverpool, Fabinho was left out of the team for their preseason training camp in Germany.

Liverpool decided it would be wise to keep Fabinho on Merseyside while negotiations for his potential sale are ongoing because Al Hilal, the Saudi team coached by Nuno Esprito Santo, made a sizable offer for the Brazil international midfielder.

It is a significant moment for Liverpool because Fabinho—often referred to as “The Hoover” by Jurgen Klopp—has been a crucial member of their squad ever since he joined from Monaco in 2018 and has distinguished himself as one of the best holding midfielders in the league.

If Fabinho leaves, which seems likely, Liverpool will need to find a replacement. They are looking at a number of players, including Ryan Gravenberch of Bayern Munich, Romeo Lavia of Southampton, and Sofyan Amrabat, a Moroccan powerhouse who has also been linked with Manchester United.

Jordan Henderson has continued to travel despite receiving a £700,000 weekly offer from Saudi Arabia.

The inclusion of Kalvin Phillips of Manchester City on Liverpool’s list is another surprise. There hasn’t been a transfer between the clubs since Raheem Sterling transferred from Anfield to The Etihad in July 2015, so it’s unclear how likely it would be for them to conduct business.

While Aurelian Tchouameni, who Liverpool pursued a year ago, is rumored to be unattainable this summer from Real Madrid, Moses Caicedo, who has been frequently linked with Liverpool, is more likely to move to Chelsea.

Despite the rumors regarding his own future, Liverpool’s captain Jordan Henderson has traveled to Germany.

Wednesday’s preseason opener for Klopp’s team is against Karlsruhe, and there’s a chance that newcomers Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai will make their club debuts in this game.

Travelling party: Alisson, Gomez, Van Dijk, Konate, Thiago, Diaz, Szoboszlai, Nunez, Mac Allister, Salah, Adrian, Henderson, Gakpo, Jota, Tsimikas, Robertson, Matip, Bajcetic, Phillips, Kelleher, Alexander-Arnold, Pitaluga, Bradley, Clark, Doak, Frauendorf, Jaros, Koumas, McConnell, Mrozek, Quansah, Scanlon.

Rumor Spreading: Liverpool and Lavia Agree on Personal Terms.
Liverpool FC reportedly reached a personal agreement with Southampton’s Romeo Lavia while they wait for their captain’s decision on whether to move to Saudi Arabia.

Whether Liverpool would need to make room for Lavia by moving a midfielder like Thiago had been the subject of conflicting reports. However, it appears that Henderson’s potential departure will finish the job.

With the player committed to the Reds, hopefully the club can now start the slow-burning process of haggling a transfer fee with Southampton. Logic suggests that the price would be slightly higher than £40 million, but I would certainly anticipate Liverpool to reduce it from the £50 million fee that has been floated over the past week. That is as a result of the buy-back clause going into effect at the same price in 2019. If Soton approves the player’s transfer during this window, City will also be entitled to a portion of the transfer fee. Even though the player has only one season of experience in the top flight, the talent is undeniable.
Nevertheless, the price is still high.
We’ll see if Jörg Schmadtke and crew can complete the task.

In the midst of the Anfield transfer turbulence, Florian Plettenberg, a Liverpool player, has been seen in Germany.

Rumor Spreading: Liverpool and Lavia Agree on Personal Terms.
Sepp van den Berg of Liverpool reportedly has the power to arrange a transfer to a Bundesliga team soon.

This information was provided by Sky German’s Florian Plettenberg via Twitter during a period of significant change behind the scenes with potential offers for Jordan Henderson and Fabinho.

The tweet in question suggests that the defender, who briefly made an impression at Schalke after a six-month injury layoff, would be interested in a loan assignment.

Even though it’s admittedly challenging to see where the young Dutchman fits in around players like Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate, it’s still debatably premature to say with certainty that he doesn’t have a future in the Liverpool backline.

It’s a potentially exciting option we could look to exploit if the player can have a fruitful stint on loan in the German top-flight. He stands at 6’4″ and has already played fairly prominently as a right-sided center-back while on loan.

It’s a discussion that is ultimately supported by “ifs,” “buts,” and “maybes,” of course, and it’s unlikely that we will be in a position to gamble next summer given rumors about the need to restock the back four in 2024.
