End-of-season fantasy scenario for Liverpool: Arne Slot confirmed, Virgil van Dijk contract announced

There is just one week left before Jürgen Klopp’s last game as the Reds’ manager. In a perfect world, this would occur prior to the German departure. There are just two games left.
Jürgen Klopp’s tenure at Liverpool is coming to an end with this match; the team still has one more away game left against Aston Villa before saying goodbye to Wolves at Anfield.
However, what would the perfect final week or so before the German leaves look like? In addition, there will be a lot of emotions on the field and in the seats following the final home game. Later in the month, Klopp will celebrate his last night at Liverpool at the M&S Bank Arena with an evening of festivities that includes a live Q&A.
Before then, ideally, Liverpool would win its last two games and maintain the upward trajectory that it showed was achievable with last weekend’s triumph against Spurs. A few more goals from Mohamed Salah will assist paint a more favourable picture of his circumstances before a pivotal summer for his contract.
It may also be significant if Darwin Núñez scores, or at least looks a little better than he has recently. The Uruguayan has drawn criticism for his inconsistent play, so it would be good for his confidence to close the season strong.
Even though Michael Edwards, Richard Hughes, and Julian Ward have been appointed, there is still a lot of work for those staff members to accomplish off the pitch. Our first summer (back) together can be hectic.
Arne Slot and Liverpool have reached an agreement for Slot to take over as head coach, although the announcement has not yet been made. Even though the move is still a mystery at this point, it is probable that it will occur before next weekend in order to offer him the best opportunity of saying farewell to Feyenoord following its final game of the season.
In addition to Salah’s contractual status, Trent Alexander-Arnold and Virgil van Dijk are also only guaranteed till 2025. Getting one of those players to sign a contract extension would be a huge help before the season ends and would prevent any transfer rumours from surfacing during the window without games. All three of those players should be given new contracts.
Since the rest of the team is fairly evenly matched, centre back seems like a logical spot to target in the lengthy process of prospective transfer work. Though there is little prospect of anything being verified before the season concludes, it would make sense to act quickly and decisively in the coming weeks.
There won’t be much time between the end of this season and the beginning of the pre-season, where players are actually present, because the European Championship is being held in Germany and the Olympic Games are being held in Paris this summer. It will therefore be much more important than normal to finish tasks early.
Even though Klopp won’t be leaving Liverpool with a Premier League championship, the team still has a lot of other things to focus on. As an emotional week that signifies the end of an era begins, giving the German an emotional ovation at Anfield on Sunday will be a crucial part of that.
