Following links, Fabrizio Romano says Liverpool has little chance of securing a “world-class” target this summer.
Despite recent rumours to the contrary, Fabrizio Romano stated that Liverpool has no chance of signing a target this summer.
The Reds are preparing to finally make some moves in the summer market. While they continue to be connected to a deal for Turkish star Baris Alper Yilmaz, winger Ben Doak is reportedly considering a loan move away from Liverpool.
Real Madrid sensation Arda Guler, who rose to international fame in recent months following his amazing exploits for Turkey at Euro 2024, is another player with whom Liverpool has been connected this summer.
However, it seems that Liverpool has very little chance of signing the young player at this point.
This summer, Real Madrid not willing to let go of Arda Guler, who is connected to Liverpool.
Romano stated on Twitter that Madrid will not let Guler to go this summer, despite recent speculations indicating that the winger may quit the Spanish powerhouses after failing to establish himself as a regular member of Carlo Ancelotti’s starting lineup.
“Recent links between Arda Guler and loan move to Bayer Leverkusen are wide of mark,” commented Romano on social media. Arda is an essential component of Real Madrid’s ambitions and isn’t loanable.
Right now, his primary concern is Real Madrid. Guler, who has been praised for having “world-class” potential, might have been the perfect addition to Liverpool this summer. Arne Slot seems to be eager to add an additional attacker to rival players like Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz.
However, now that Madrid has made their intentions clear regarding Guler, the Reds will need to look into other options. The Turkish international is a player who could have excelled at Anfield had a move materialise this summer.
In their efforts to sign Guler, Liverpool can afford to be patient
Guler, who is 19 years old, is still very much in the early stages of his career, having had a wild ride over the last 12 months after winning the UEFA Champions League and excelling at Euro 2024. Guler plays for both Madrid and Turkey.
Even so, Liverpool can afford to take their time in trying to recruit Guler, who is still just a youngster and hasn’t established himself as a regular for Madrid despite signing from Fenerbahce a year ago.
In fact, Liverpool and many other teams in Europe won’t have given up on signing Guler just yet, and if Madrid is unable to provide the Turkish wonderkid with what he wants, there’s a good chance the winger will become available in a year or two.
