Joao Felix is keen to leave Atletico Madrid before the summer transfer window closes, with a return to Chelsea as a possible solution for the Portuguese striker.
Joao Felix has been linked with a surprise return to Chelsea as we approach the final days of the summer transfer window. football.london understands that another signing will be fielded by the west London side with an eye to the attacking areas.
A versatile striker is the Blues’ priority ahead of the deadline. Felix joined the west Londoners on a short-term deal from Atletico in January, hoping to impress this summer and secure a permanent move to Stamford Bridge.
However, the 23-year-old has since made it clear that, despite interest from Saudi clubs, his priority is to join Barcelona. That’s why football.london took a look at the latest news on Felix’ future with just two days left until the transfer window.
Barcelona priority
According to Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona are preparing to sign Felix before the transfer window closes on Friday, September 1. The transfer guru said: “Barcelona are ready to launch ‘Operation Joao Felix’ in the next 48 hours – the board are working to find a solution to make this possible with FFP.”
“Joao has only been waiting for Barca since his interview in July. He would only consider other clubs or Saudi Arabia if the Barca deal falls through.”
Player stance revealed
Joao Felix prioritizes a move to Barcelona before the transfer window closes. In a statement about his future, Felix said: “I would like to play for Barcelona.
“Barcelona has always been my first choice and I would really like to play for Barça. It has always been my dream since I was a child. If it happens, it will be a dream come true for me.”
Ansu Fati twist
Barcelona are ready to leave Ansu Fati on loan or on a permanent transfer to make way for the signing of Joao Felix. Tottenham and Chelsea have been offered the chance to sign the youngster from Barca this summer – which would allow the Catalan club to pay Felix’s wages.
The Portuguese international has already expressed his desire to join Barcelona.
Decision of Mauricio Pochettino
According to the Daily Mail, Mauricio Pochettino has already decided he doesn’t want to sign Joao Felix on a permanent deal following his £15million loan spell last season. The Atletico Madrid striker joined the Premier League club on loan in January and has made 20 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals and providing no assists. Atletico president Enrique Cerezo has confirmed that the Blues will not take the opportunity to sign Felix, adding that he will return to the Spanish capital.

Chelsea are now ready to make a swap to sign the ‘incredible’ 23-year-old, the club don’t want him to leave
Chelsea are now set to offer Arsenal some players in a bid to sign Emile Smith Rowe before Friday’s transfer deadline.
The Daily Mail reports it.
What’s the latest on Emile Smith Rowe and Chelsea? We see…
What’s the story?
Well, this rumor seemed ludicrous at first, given Smith Rowe’s love of Arsenal and his status as a Gunners endorser. However, it is now generating some momentum.
Firstly, a story in The Times claimed Arsenal would be willing to sell Smith Rowe after Chelsea officially approached the 23-year-old.
Now, according to the Daily Mail, Chelsea would be willing to negotiate an exchange with Arsenal, even if no names have been named.
The article said Arsenal were against the sale of Smith Rowe – whom Mikel Arteta called an “incredible” player – to Chelsea.
However, the Daily Mail article said the Gunners would be willing to cash in their No. 10 if they received an offer well above market value – something the Times alluded to – so this deal is still possible in the event of a big one.

Chelsea waste valuable time with Smith Rowe
In our opinion, Chelsea have already wasted valuable time even inquiring about Smith Rowe.
The England international’s market value – in this bloated climate – is likely to be around £60m, meaning Chelsea would likely have to bid around £80m to land the graduate of Hale End.
Although Smith Rowe is a phenomenal talent, it would be a bizarre use of money, especially as Chelsea still lack a world-class goalkeeper and also a number one. 9 that could compete with Nicolas Jackson.
Still, Chelsea certainly seem to be a fan of the Croydon-born playmaker, so be sure to keep an eye on the situation.
