Following Jürgen Klopp’s counsel, Gini Wijnaldum 2.0, who Liverpool bought, is already doing well.

Liverpool followed Jurgen Klopp’s advice and signed Gini Wijnaldum 2.0, who was already performing well.
Ryan Gravenburch has fouled Jurgen Klopp in recent weeks after doing something no Liverpool midfielder has done in three years.
Liverpool’s recruitment of Ryan Gravenburch has recently begun ahead of the summer transfer window.
The young midfielder has been a long-term target and the Reds made a surprise return to the market after Bayern Munich won the long-awaited competition to sign him from Ajax in 2022.
Liverpool may have been chasing Gravenberch for a long time, seeing him as a key figure in their Champions League and Premier League triumphs and a long-term replacement for Gini Wijnaldum, who leaves in 2021.
According to The Athletic, “senior recruiting figures” saw similarities between Gravenbirch and his compatriot, who is known to resist the press and likes to play a left-handed number eight role.
Wijnaldum arrived at Anfield as a potentially explosive attacking midfielder, but was placed under the radar at number eight and rarely troubled opposition goalkeepers.
Gravenbirch also failed to score once in his first four games for the club.
He started in cup games against LASK and Leicester, as well as Premier League games against West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur.
But since then everything has changed dramatically. In his last five games, he had 11 shots on goal against Brighton, scoring two goals and hitting the back of the net.
According to Liverpool.com’s Andrew Beasley, he became the first Liverpool midfielder to score four goals in European competition in at least three seasons when he scored the rebound after Darwin Nunez’s no-look shot against Toulouse last week, according to Andrew Beasley Beasley of Liverpool.com.
This statistic is even more impressive considering that the 21-year-old did not play a single game from start to finish.
He averaged 3.2 attempts per 90, far more than Wijnaldum (his best season average was 1.8 in 2016/17 and averaged between 1.0 and 1 .4 in the next four campaigns).
Going into more detail, only Nunes (4.92) and Diogo Lotta (3.53) have taken more than 3.2 shots per 90 minutes for Liverpool in the Premier League.
Harvey Elliott leads the middle division with 3.14, followed by Dominic Soboslaydan with 2.1 and Curtis Jones with 0.96.
Gravenbirch also beat every Liverpool midfielder last season, with Naby Keita leading the way with 3.1. In regular starts, Elliott averaged 2.0 points, Jones 1.3 points, Jordan Henderson 1.0 points and Thiago 0.7 points.
Now we have to see if this remains valid as it breaks some of Jurgen Klopp’s rules.
However, Gravenbirch will feature in the Reds’ Evolved 2.0 just like Wijnaldum’s Evolved 2.0. The reason why we rarely see Liverpool’s midfielders perform like this and end the season with a high number of goals is because they leave it up to the attackers to score goals. Their responsibilities usually lie elsewhere.
Moreover, we are familiar with the number 8 on the right wing.In this case, Soboslay is placed in a slightly more offensive capacity.
The start of this season was a good example.
Jones, now suspended, took over at No. 8, with Soboslay acting as an 8/10 hybrid.
Gravenbirch may have kicked the habit of taking Klopp’s advice on the training ground.
Before his official debut with LASK, the manager told him to “be free” and “do what you want” (vialiverpoolfc.com). At first he played by himself, but recently he listened to instructions.
The ‘freedom’ with which the former Bayern Munich star plays could disappear if Klopp interprets his philosophy.
But equally, the results so far have been so encouraging that it might be worth giving Gravenberch permission to attack and be patient.
So far he has added some extra features to works like Wijnaldum.
