Arne Slot takes over a team with tremendous attacking talent when he is officially appointed as Liverpool’s new manager.

That was seen on Sunday when outgoing manager Jurgen Klopp saw his squad defeat Tottenham Hotspur by four goals.

Liverpool, playing against a team now ranked as the fifth-best in the Premier League, mustered an incredible 23 shots on goal against Spurs. 13 of those shots were on target.

Although the Reds scored two goals in each half, demonstrating their shooting prowess this time, every supporter is aware that the exact reverse might occur in just ninety minutes.

Darwin Nunez, who entered the game in the final twenty minutes, actually shown some of it when he missed a few guilt-edge opportunities.

It brought up the issue of Liverpool’s finishing in the final third once more. Jermain Defoe told Premier League Productions on May 5, 24 at 6:40 p.m., that the club’s injured Diogo Jota is “the best finisher,” even ahead of Mohamed Salah.

With his header against Tottenham to add to his ten assists this season, Salah is still considered his team’s primary goal threat. He now has 18 Premier League goals this season.

However, Nunez and the “wrong” kind of finishing possibilities he employs were one individual who Defoe criticised following the game.

Darwin Nunez’s completion

Defoe stated, “I believe Jota is probably the best finisher.” He truly completes, as in thoughtful finishes. Nunez and Salah shoot, if that makes any sense. They don’t complete.

“Even Nunez knew that the best course of action when he went through on goal was to circumvent the custodian and then transfer the ball into an empty net.

However, he tries to dink it over him for an unknown reason. In that case, it is the incorrect course of action. When opportunities present themselves regularly, week after week and game after game, and you fail to take advantage of them, you will lose ground to teams like Man City and Arsenal, whose players seize these opportunities and convert them.

Does Liverpool require an additional striker?

Assuming Salah remains in Merseyside. Will Liverpool purchase a new goal scorer by entering the transfer window?

Supporters are aware that they can rely on their right flying winger, but Nunez is someone else entirely.
