Chelsea has made additional adjustments to how business is conducted at Stamford Bridge, with a new CEO being named as Tom Glick prepares to leave the organization.
As Tom Glick steps down as president of business, Chelsea has named Chris Jurasek as the club’s new CEO. According to reports, the latter resigned in order to seek new chances, but he will collaborate closely with Jurasek during the transition period before departing the team.
Following the takeover last summer, Glick was one of the first people hired. He joined the company in July 2022 and was given control of day-to-day operations, including overseeing the company’s worldwide commercial strategy, increasing revenue, and improving fan engagement. Jurasek will be responsible for managing every aspect of the club’s business. Along with fellow sporting directors Laurence Stewart and Paul Winstanley, he will report to the board.
“I’m thrilled to be joining Chelsea, a club that is loved and followed all over the world,” Jurasek said. I’m incredibly honored to be guiding it through the next phase of its illustrious history. We have tremendous opportunity to develop both on and off the field and to interact with our extraordinary supporters in London and elsewhere. Working directly with our owners, our executive team, and everyone else at the club is something I’m looking forward to.
Jurasek served as CEO of Eagle View until joining Clearlake Capital in 2014 as an operations officer.
Owners Mark Walter and Hansjörg Wyss, along with chairman Todd Boehly, stated of Chris: “Chris is a great executive who will contribute enormous value to Chelsea. Chris is a great addition to our team because he is a senior leader with collaboration skills and experience working for a variety of different companies.
The club’s co-controlling owners, Behdad Eghbali and José E. Feliciano, said: “Chris’ experience and expertise will allow us to drive the club ahead in all areas, especially in supporting our long-term goals for Chelsea.
“With a talented and aspirational leadership team, our focus will remain on making sure the club is competitive and sustainable from a sporting and business perspective.”
