Following three additional transfers, André’s move was expedited, and Roméo Lavia signs – Liverpool dream team.

Before Jürgen Klopp can believe that Liverpool’s team is in the position it needs to be to challenge at the top, there are still a few transfer-related tasks that need to be completed.

Liverpool still has work to do in the transfer market as the countdown to the start of the new Premier League season continues. Jürgen Klopp would prefer to bring in three or four more players after only signing Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai so far.

According to Sky Sports, Liverpool has started talking to 22-year-old André Trindade of Fluminense. Two bids have already been made for Roméo Lavia, who is still a target.

One addition is almost certainly insufficient if it is a younger option, but combining those two acquisitions could be a strong combination for Liverpool. Lavia, for instance, is just 19 years old and has played in the Premier League for just one season. If someone else (like André) was coming in January, it would almost be risk-justifiable to bring him in alone.

According to the Brazilian publication UOL, Fluminense is hesitant to sell for another six months because it wants to keep its midfielder until after its season is over.

Levi Colwill, an accomplished English center-back, has reportedly signed a new six-year contract with Chelsea, so it is no longer a secret that he won’t be leaving the club this summer. Liverpool must find a different defensive solution if Colwill is unable to do so.

On the left side of the defense, where Virgil van Dijk has been named the new club captain, there is currently no suitable backup option, and on the right side, there is a significant drop-off between Ibrahima Konaté and Jol Matip.

It is crucial to get that position right because Trent Alexander-Arnold’s hybrid role, which involves pushing into midfield, puts pressure on the right-sided option. Konaté is as close to being perfect for it as it is possible to get at his best, but he cannot play every minute and does have a propensity to sustain injuries.

Liverpool is most interested in acquiring a left-sided defender, but it is unclear who that player will be. Colwill is no longer an option, so perhaps some other names will now surface.

All of these adjustments would have been made if the world were perfect. It would be impossible to integrate a new holding midfielder before the team’s season-opening match against Chelsea, which is coming up soon.

But getting someone in that position through the door before that will have a significant impact on how well Liverpool performs this season. The rest of the team appears exciting if you get it right. If you make a mistake, Alisson Becker may have a busier time than usual and may concede a lot of goals.

The arrival of new players is important, so having Lavia and André in midfield would be ideal. Despite Fluminense’s desire to keep the latter, Spanish media outlet AS reports that Liverpool could still force the transfer by offering a higher price.

The alternative to losing Thiago Alcântara next summer at the end of his contract would be to sign Lavia now and André in January, but doing so might cause some short-term discomfort in the interim.

It is imperative to sign another defender once the midfield has been stabilized. To avoid overtaxing Van Dijk and Konaté, that must take place. Liverpool has previously shown that when there aren’t enough good options, things can fall apart very quickly.

In light of everything, it is still true that at least three more signings would be ideal. In an ideal scenario, two defenders could be brought on to strengthen that part of the field, but that might be too many defenders in too little time.

Defenders: Alexander-Arnold, Bradley, Konaté, Van Dijk, Matip, Gomez, Matip, new addition, Robertson, and Tsimikas.

Midfield: Szoboszlai, Mac Allister, Lavia, André, Jones, Elliott, Thiago, Bajéti, and Morton  (along with young players like Bobby Clark who may play if they are selected).

Attacking players include: Salah, Gakpo, Dz, Nez, and Jota (along with any young players who will play, like Ben Doak).
